A year ago yesterday (thanks @donkeydownburst.bsky.social for reminding me), Colin and I found ourselves gobbling up some Jet's pizza along the shoreline of the UP of Michigan. Our original intent of the trip was to photograph fall colors, but the night skies definitely stole the show. What a night.
By far a peaking moment not just for me, but for us. What a special moment. Glad we got to share it together! (Let’s do it again soon)
1 year ago about right now, @charliekruschek.com & I were sitting in my car, eating Jet’s Pizza while we awaited the next auroral substorm on the shore of Lake Superior. A lot of chasers will remember 6/15/25 as Wellfleet’s day. However, there was also this tornado in Minnesota that same afternoon! I like to call it The Lost Tornado.

MY TOP 10 FROM WISCONSIN: Number 10 // Taken near Rib Mountain in 2018, this was actually a consolation prize after we had attempted to chase some nearby storms earlier in the day. One of the first shots I ever took that I felt like “I got it”.
