I do really appreciate Walz’s refusal to bail on trans people.

Like... no, you're not "projecting" or "calling" races, Polymarket. You're showing people the current betting line and misrepresenting it as something more than that.

I think one of the things that bothers me the most about the way Polymarket presents itself to the world is that it's adopted the language of journalism to make itself sound more legitimate. Like look at this post from yesterday morning incorrectly "projecting" the winner.

This is exactly right. When I was considering transition I got very caught up in words and trying to figure out what makes people trans, whether a trans person is "really" a member of their gender, etc.

I realized none of it mattered. Whether I "am" a man or merely living as a man doesn't matter.

The Alysa Liu creep-out taught me that zero percent of young MAGA guys who came of age during Trump’s political rise have ever meaningfully interacted with women.

At the bottom of the Substack settings page, under "Danger Zone," you can turn off all subscriptions at once.

Apologies to all my friends on Substack. I'd gritted my teeth and supported you because I love your work. But Substack's partnership with Polymarket is the last straw for me.

Remember what I said about how, when Trump is flailing, they start inserting a fake, fictional Trump into their stories, who is acting rationally and sanely?

I don't remember any administration repeatedly telling us before to get used to the idea of Americans dying. And not loving it!

In case you're wondering how some sectors of the Christian right are seeing Trump's war in Iran, I've just read several articles seeing a prophetic meaning in a coincidence of Trump's strikes, the assassination of Khameni, and a blood moon occurring on Purim (tomorrow).

Last week the city opened $30/hour snow clearing jobs and they filled fast.

Now what if we had a municipal jobs guarantee? Livable wages. Union benefits. Stronger communities.

this one fucked me up so much. guy turns his life around after a drug conviction, becomes a happy, beloved, pet rescuing houseboat dad who undersells his mechanic services so poor folks can afford them. ICE grabs him one day out of the hospital for heart problems which then kill him. horrifying

Wonder if the β€œCampus left” or Thomas Friedman was more correct about the outcomes of the Iraq or Afghan wars? πŸ€”

Perhaps we should base who we listen to on their previous track record.
