"You may have questions about what I’ve just described and I can assure you I have no answers."
If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far. Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen! This is a gift from the United States of America to China, and all of those Nations that heavily use the Hormuz Strait. Hopefully, it is a gesture that will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Trump is completely flailing. He didn't anticipate the economic blowback and now he's trying to undo the past 10 days and contain the damage.
Snorkeling on Moorea. Amazing coral and aquatic life. Friend took the pix.
Trump is INCAPABLE of articulating a coherent policy on the war because he does not understand it in the barest terms, does not have any war aims, and doesn't care what happens. It is difficult for him to "chicken out" because that would require him to form an idea and pursue a course of action.
YES. In the same sentence he said the war was complete, he proposed a policy that would vastly enlarge the war! Media reported the first half, and then later reported a different part to make it seem like a change! But it was incoherent, nonsensical slop all along.
This, too, is sanewashing!
Reporter: You just suggested that Iran somehow got its hands on a tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war. But you're the only person in your government saying this. Why?
Trump: Because I just don't know enough about it.
The U.S. government has lost more than 10,000 STEM Ph.D.s since Trump took office.

“It was the first time in almost four years that the global oil benchmark, known as Brent, cost more than $100 a barrel. Oil is now around 50 percent more expensive than it was before the United States and Israel began attacking Iran on Feb. 28.”

holy shit
Every person has that humanity in them; it can be cultivated, it can be squandered. To talk the way he talked in the video deposition, to me means a person squandered it…
I like to hope that people like him (and all know are certain of his professional actions/choices and the video deposition) can attain a fuller sense of being human is all…
Stunning. This person Justin Fox will need about 5 years of community service and humility to regain any authentic humanity. A heavy price to have paid.
“We are looking at what is by far the biggest disruption in world history in terms of daily oil production,” said energy historian Daniel Yergin. “If it goes on for weeks, it will reverberate across the global economy.”

Is this bad? It seems bad.
Hyperempowered, trillionaire-driven political movements for racial supremacy are not Conservative, and not Liberal.
But those movements are sickening filth that is harming all Conservative and Liberal Americans. And will bring them far greater harm until stopped.
Only fools…
LOL “The problem with writers putting their cute kids in books is not the harm done to the families but the embarrassment suffered by the reader.”
Interesting new work by two outstanding novelists, Álvaro Enrigue and Francis Spufford, for this weekend's WSJ fiction column. I cavil about the first being too self-conscious and the second being too breezy. There's just no pleasing some critics! www.wsj.com/arts-culture...
Lindsey Graham: "If we get in a fight, I want to win it quick. I'm in Miami. You see this hat? 'Free Cuba.' Stay tuned. The liberation of Cuba is upon us. We're marching through the world. We're clearing out the bad guys. Cuba is next."
People are saying it may have been designed to provoke.
A federal judge in DC rules that Kari Lake was not lawfully appointed and that actions she took as the claimed head of USAGM "shall have no force or effect," including last August's RIFs at the Voice of America.
Snorkeling at different points around Moorea today and then hike to Afareaitu waterfall. Boy was that hot! 3 liters of water in 2 hours. Did walk extra 3 miles on road…
Cupich: “A real war with real death and real suffering being treated like it’s a video game -it’s sickening. Hundreds of people are dead, mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, including scores of children who made the fatal mistake of going to school that day.” www.archchicago.org/en/statement...
Why “not be sure”? To the extent that things have causes, R2P discourses did not cause this thing, in any reasonable discourse about causation, so suggesting that is did, even with a “but it is ridiculous” is just clickbait bad journalism.
Ngl it is pretty amazing… but definitely everyday food 1.5-2x more expensive than PR or probably Brazil…six pack of the local beer is $16 in grocery store.
NEW: The bad news about international-student enrollments at American colleges just got worse. An exclusive @chronicle.com analysis of just-released State Department data shows new visa issuances in the summer of 2025 dropped by more than a third. www.chronicle.com/article/the-...
Maybe "embarassement" is a bit of a euphemism.
