I liked the first 2 seasons of Discovery. (At some point too many plot resolutions were “Burnham gives inspiring monologue while weeping” and I got frustrated, and at some point we left P+ so I never got to finish). And I loved Picard, all of it. So not just you. :-)

I think it was Algebra 2-trig where I had my first bad teacher…I remember one day when he was out and the math department chair took the class. He TAUGHT us. It was like the skies opened up and suddenly for 48 minutes all was clear. And then I was back in fog again.
80s here. What got me is that it wasn’t just about being good at math, it was understanding it without being taught that was valued. If someone sat down and TAUGHT me the math, I could have done it. Instead I scraped through pre-calc learning to solve the problems but having no idea what they meant.
I got to perform the Defiant Requiem once—do you know it? About the chorus at Terezin that performed the Verdi Requiem for visitors and guards…life-changing.
