My 5 star letterboxd review for Titanic: One time I was unexpectedly trip sitting and I performed the entirety of Rose's "the ship of dreams" monologue to three people blitzed into the fucking moon. Anyway, the screenplay is so hilariously flawed (32% of it is "Jack!" "Rose?") but Miss Jimmy Cams committed to the bit and I can't pretend to actually review Titanic. I LOVE TITANIC! My least favorite moment is when dude is like, "an OLD lady is on the phone for u" and he's like, "ugh, an OLD person? UUUUGH!" and you know, you asked for people to tell you who the naked lady picture from THE TITANIC was... who did you think would know that? A spry 27 year old? This is my one parasocial irl ship ok... can you IMAGINE what paradise the world would be if Leo & Kate had gotten married after this and done 100 movies together? Billy Zane FOREVER!!!!!!!!

The problem with IP mining isn't revisiting something old is inherently bad or empty. There are many stories you could still tell in the Buffyverse. They could legitimately do John Wick forever & there's no reason Scream has to fucking suck. The system AROUND this stuff - IP > story - is the issue.
