GAMH trustee Ron Henry said: 'At the Men's Health Network, we are very grateful for this new Congressional action. Too many men are dying too young. An Office of Men's Health is essential not only for the men themselves, but also for the wives, sisters and daughters who love them.'
The bill is supported by the Men's Health Network, who also supported the recent enactment of legislation on the state level creating Fatherhood Commissions in Ohio and Virginia. Additional legislation is pending in Maryland and Missouri.

Vaccinating boys also protects males against the HPV-caused cancers and other diseases that can affect them too. The elimination of cervical cancer is within our reach, but only if we take action. Global routine universal vaccination is essential.
By vaccinating boys as well as girls we can utilise the full potential of the HPV vaccine & accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer. We can increase uptake by normalising vaccination & challenging false assumptions that blame women for HPV acquisition, transmission & the resulting diseases.
Girls-only HPV prevention programmes have entrenched the perception that HPV infection, including its prevention, is ‘a female issue’. They reinforce the message to boys and men that sexual health and cancer prevention, or health in general, are not issues they need be concerned about.
Boys and men can play a key role in the prevention of cervical cancer. Males can protect their partners from HPV infections and HPV vaccination should be viewed as a shared responsibility between males and females.
The WHO target of eliminating cervical cancer as a public health problem is a critically important one which has mobilised national and international action to improve the health outcomes of millions of women and girls.
