Journalist Sara Murphy is working on a story about the impact of climate disasters on people with #LongCOVID, focusing on the American South. She would love to connect with people who had to manage the recent ice storms and extreme cold, or even previous disasters. Contact: hello@saramurphyphd.com.

Never forget how beautiful this all is. Never stop imagining how much more beautiful it could be.

This is so frustrating and disheartening. I spent months in 2020-21 on this feature about how all psychologists needed to prepare for an influx of Long Covid patients, yet APA's work largely stopped there. www.apa.org/monitor/2021...

As most of the COVID -safe/-aware community can tell you, try wearing a mask everywhere & declining indoor eating invitations and then see how many friends you have left.

One reason I'm so disappointed in influencer doctors & scientists with massive platforms who downplay masking is that maskers already face enormous stigma. Public health deserted us. Politicians mock us. But scientists too?

I'll always side with the most vulnerable & powerless

I know, that at this point,
you have more than enough reasons
to be wearing a mask
but considering a new report
has found β€œdata centers’
air pollution associated
with lung issues, death,”
you now have yet another reason.

Screenshot of The Boston Globe article titled β€œA father fights for his daughter’s future as she struggles with long COVID,” by Felice J. Freyer (updated Feb 20, 2026). Subheading notes researchers now recognize eight forms of long COVID, with slow treatment progress. Main image shows Samantha Crausman, 28, lying in bed wearing an eye mask, covered with a blanket in a dim bedroom with pillows and items nearby. Reflected in the window, her father, Dr. Robert S. Crausman, stands outside on a porch wearing a mask and winter clothing, looking in. The scene highlights strict precautions to avoid reinfection, including limited contact and visitors staying outside.

Samantha Crausman, 28, has had ongoing symptoms since a COVID infection 4 years ago. She and her parents were fully vaccinated when they got COVID in 2022, but only she didn’t recover. At risk of worsening with reinfection, her family still lives with strict pandemic-level protections.

DHS axed its civil rights staffβ€”and opened the door to a major lawsuit The agency is now barely pretending to follow disability law. Its former civil rights head says that makes ICE vulnerable.

A recent Congressional letter accuses DHS of not being compliant with a major civil rights law due to the mistreatment of disabled ICE detainees. As I reported for @motherjones.com, this is worsened by the fact DHS' office for civil rights has TWO EMPLOYEES now.

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.

Maryland health officials warn providers about an upsurge in mumps cases Maryland health officials are warning about an uptick in cases of mumps.

Measles is a bellwether. Because it’s the most contagious vaccine-preventable disease, when vaccination rates drop, it’s the first to start spreading.

Now we’ve got mumps rolling up.

Expect more.

This is just the beginning of RFK Jr.’s successful infectious disease reintroduction plan.

Long COVID may be triggering Alzheimer’s-like changes in the brain: new study Over 20 million Americans are believed to have long COVID, suffering symptoms such as severe fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness and muscle pain.

As I've said many times before on this platform, the moment I decided that I was going to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2 was the moment I read that acute Covid-19 could cause both cognitive dysfunction and anosmia.
