I don't know if it's the same. I had to accept so much abuse as a gay child and young adult where I had to suppress my feelings and hide my true identity because of bullying and with no support at home or at school. Now, I'm open, out, and happy but always a bit guarded.

I'm wondering if perhaps I deal with Alexithymia.
