KiCad has released a new packaging format for Linux. You can know run the latest KiCad using AppImage. This is still in testing, so please give it a spin and let us know if something doesn't work correctly. You can find them at downloads.kicad.org

Why, yes! It was created using a digital illustration tool called "Inkscape". I highly recommend it.
That's because I was pasting in the stock logo and mashing it for the perspective. Didn't come out quite right but this was a quick job.
