"sapphiretron"... testing new M8 beta firmware features (flanger fx, shimmer reverb, OTT master compressor)
The trick is to use grooves to slow down tables that don’t need to go fast, and stop them with A20 always if it doesn’t need to loop. Double layered samples are pretty taxing on the DMG too, along with putting vibrato on everything :P
3x works pretty well on a DMG even, 6x requires a GBC. Sameboy emulates GBC clock speed pretty accurately - if it works on that, it usually plays on real HW the same :) some tricks like timestretching samples are pretty intensive even for the GBC but it generally handles whatever you throw at it

Just one channel, but I try to create a bit more space for it by alternating the panning of the echo notes left and right
Latest version is always the best :) unfortunately I don't have any particular tutorials to show, I often try just random combinations of pulse wave modulation and pitch values until I get something that I like. I recommend checking out @defensemech.com 's youtube channel though, lots of good stuff
