AI is not inevitable. Nothing in human societies is inevitable because we design them. Healthcare can be free for the public. Books can be bought instead of bombs. Universities can be free for students, and they can even receive a stipend to live off. Don't let companies dictate the future.

The use of AI to identify targets (without subsequent specific human confirmation) should be considered a war crime.
And by that I don't mean "we should make a rule" I mean that straightforward application of the existing rules would tell you that it is a war crime.
Like, none of this is a secret. The planners at the DoD who are using this technology to make deadly decisions not only have blood on their hands, they should be put on trial for negligent homicide, for war crimes. It is an outrage that they are so careless with civilian lives.
