New paper:
Armed conflict is also an environmental health crisis.
Wars contaminate air, water & soil, disrupt ecosystems, and create long-term health risks that remain largely undocumented.
We call for stronger scientific engagement, accountability & action.

Noise: The invisible killer in all our lives
The BBC's James Gallagher investigates the invisible killer all around us.
Nice BBC article on noise and health focusing on Barcelona and Dhaka, Bangla (supposedly the loudest city in the world). Once, in a course in Dhaka, I talked about car accidents & discussed measures to prevent them. “Louder horns,” suggested a student. “Absolutely not” I said 🙂 bbc.in/4i6X9Bh

Symptoms of long-COVID can last up to two years after infection with COVID-19. We found a higher prevalence of long-Covid (23%) than other studies probably because we are among the few large population based studes and we have longer follow-up. doi.org/10.1186/s129...

this is a major initiative from SPHERA that includes practically all main research centres in Europe on environment, climate and health and shows inconsistencies and poor planning from the EC regarding the commitment to promote actions preventing the effects of climate change

We had previously shown in the same study and association of air-pollution with severe COVID-19 and also with weaker response to covid vaccines. Now we extend the findings showing an association of PM2.5 with long-COVID. This is not unexpected only that this is the first big study showing it
