Willy Adames being here is the most surprising one IMO. He had +16 OAA in 2023, fell back to +1 last year. He had two errors last night, but I refuse to believe he’ll be this bad defensively (or offensively) all year.

It’s just tough to see a really good outfielder take a brutal injury in April, on a play that’s extremely important for the game, but not that important for the season. I hope Robles is ok.

It’s tough because the game was on the line, the ball was down the line. If it bounces fair, the game’s over. If it bounces foul, the at-bat continues. The game almost ended anyway with the catch and the runner tagging. And then the giants walk it off anyway with the next batter.

That Robles catch was one of the most spectacular catches I’ve ever seen. No regard for his safety. Full scorpion into the netting. I really hope he’s ok but he might have broken his wrist.
