1. You have a Mac laptop with an outboard Bluetooth keyboard. Itβs asleep.
2. You wake up the Mac by hitting the Touch ID on the laptop keyboard.
3. The Mac is annoyingly slow at starting to respond to keystrokes on the outboard. Several seconds, sometimes.
How to fix:
1. Hit any key on the BT [β¦]

A large tree trunk fills the frame. The bark is rough and there is plenty of lichen and moss. Also, the shadow of another tree branch.
Itβs a βWhite Ashβ, Fraxinus americana.

@edwiebe Mostly. Also, on English. One of them (Algospeak I think) does talk about how social-media jargon first used in English has migrated to other languages. I wonder if the reverse has happened? There is some discussion of China, where "The Algorithm" has some different goals.

I was introduced to language change many moons ago, when my cousin Elthea said of our adjutant "she speaks perfect white-boy".
I missed the "speaks", and replied "she's really white, with freckles and red hair, but I don't think you could ever call her a boy"

Android has excellent notification management. Long-press and make others like this buzz or be silent or just be disallowed. Somehow Facebook has worked around this and now always buzzes. I keep FB around to keep in touch with less technical branches of the family but this is intolerable.

Shame on Inter Miami for sucking up to that guy in the White House. Especially given that most of them are brown-skinned foreigners, as in leading candidates for arrest, incarceration, and deportation by ICE if they weren't elite athletes. Feaugh.
