Work in politics. Here to provide political and societal witticisms…or the closest equivalent I can manage. Mainly UK, European and US politics, although I’m an equal opportunities satirist. Also an amateur - and slightly experimental - cook.

Well, Starmer is an outright warmonger compared to “man of peace” Nigel Farage.

I would even say that Farage was like Gandhi, if it weren’t for the highly inconvenient fact that Gandhi was brown.

I confidently expect the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph to tell us that this wasn’t a U-turn but a “patriot pivot”…

Don’t worry, Chris Mason will be along in a minute to talk about Farage’s inevitable march to power, so normal service will resume shortly.

Farage’s push for more UK oil and gas is also profoundly disingenuous.

What his supporters don’t understand or choose to ignore is that these are sold to the highest bidder on international markets and not just plugged straight into the National Grid.

But hey, at least some rich people get richer

“The President has a right to share his demented, ill-informed dribblings based on a crayon drawing provided by his aides, before it was time for him to be put down for his nap” is what I’m sure she meant to say.

Only one of us is getting needlessly angry, antagonistic and insulting, so I don’t think this debate - if you can call it that - is going to get us anywhere. Let’s just part ways here.

Read the clause again:

“Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause **incidental** loss of life or injury to civilians…”

Thinking it was a base doesn’t matter - recklessly targeting a site in a heavily populated civilian area and killing children is a war crime.

If Iran doesn’t remove the mines, we might start bombing schools, desalinisation plants, and other civilian targets.

Oh, wait…

Kemi Badenoch doesn’t always embarrass herself - it’s only when she opens her mouth and actually says something.

And Trump wonders why the UK and other nations are staying out of his illegal war that is being waged for no good reason.

This is why.

Trump has had feelings again…but enough about his immoral and criminal conduct around women.

Most definitely. The corruption seems to be completely out in the open in that regard e.g. betting on Polymarket.

Absolutely agree - it’s about not being in full control of a weapon, and the harm that it does.

If the AI cannot distinguish between, say, an IRGC base with anti-aircraft weaponry on the roof and a girls school, it simply shouldn’t be used. And there has to be accountability if it is.

It’s exactly the same bullshit you get from Trump on inflation - prices going up less quickly does not mean prices going down, and ditto tax 🤦🏻

I suspect, however, that whereas Trump is genuinely that stupid, Farage knows exactly what he’s saying and doing and just doesn’t care about lying.

A fantastic test case as to what a Reform Government and a Farage Premiership would be like - “Yes, the government did this thing, and it was very clearly in the manifesto we were elected on, but I can’t be held accountable for that, and I think it’s outrageous that I should even be questioned.”

They are not signed up, and neither are Israel. 125 other countries are though - including the UK - and even if they are not actively seeking to arrest Trump, Netanyahu or whoever, they should at the very least be calling it out and/or not being accessories to the crimes in question.

Strong argument to be made that the attack represents a war crime under Article 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, including:

“Intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population as such or against individual civilians not taking direct part in hostilities”

And because Nigel Farage cares *so* much about the wellbeing (financial or otherwise) of ordinary British people, he will of course oppose a war that is going to screw up the lives of so many, not to mention killing untold numbers of Iranians, for no good reason.

Oh, wait…

A special military operation, I mean “excursion”…

09.03.2026 22:24 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

And furthermore:

“Extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly”

09.03.2026 22:22 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

There is also a further prohibition on:

“Intentionally directing attacks against buildings dedicated to….education”

09.03.2026 22:20 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I’d argue that it meets the threshold for Article 8 of the Rome Statute on the following grounds:

“Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of life or injury to civilians or damage to civilian objects…”

Nice to have a little variety.
