He also just suggested using a modified Babylon Gun to shoot barrels of oil over the Straight of Hormuz.
The Eternal President came to the launch site today, asking if I would give him a campaign speech before a launch.
I reminded him of two things: 1) not part of the contract and 2) elections were suspended after the coup.
He laughed and walked away.
Plenty of room for space alternate history writers, at least. Look at all you're going to get to work with!
It appears Artemis has been crippled. The program will limp forward, but is ultimately going to expire sooner rather than later. Mars is as far as ever.
All because people refuse to acknowledge that space travel isn't easy. There is no magic "make it work" button. Utter stupidity.
If this plan goes forward, Jared Isaacman will be the worst NASA administrator probably in the agency's history. This plan makes sense if your goal is to cripple NASA and human spaceflight in general.
Going to push the Safir/Simorgh/Iranian Know Your Rocket to next year, I think.
This one, specifically.
In a nice departure from our normal schedule, we discuss art history and nothing else. No dust counting whatsoever. Only painting Jesus about to punch a guy.

And as an FYI, real launch systems have actual limitations and cost real money. Imaginary paper rockets always exceed performance expectations, are the cheapest, and will always make it on time.
It astounds me how many 'space enthusiasts' seek to destroy the space program in favor of an imagined ideal.
Guess what? Switch to what they want and soon enough they'll hate it too.
And so on.
Looks like I have to update the ending. If you like rants, it appears you're in luck.
You've got to be kidding me.
We have recorded our Artemis II special, coming this... April.
Here's a romantic Europa II/TA. Like many people's relationships, the upper stages can't help but destroy themselves.
What's more romantic than a Return to Flight? (This was supposed to be Giotto, but the audio was bad.)

I want to emphasize the serious problem with space advocacy turning into a quasi-religion. In the last two days, I've seen zealotry drive arguments and nothing technical or practical but instead fantastical. Far too many people think science fiction is real.
Since the discourse is back yet again, I've decided to list the economic justifications/benefits of Moon/Mars colonization (NOT exploration, which is its own thing):
Coming soon: Europa III proposals.
Say what you will about Scientology, at least they keep the silly stuff behind a paywall.
Any company unironically citing the Kardashev scale is not serious. These attempts at invoking science fiction are a distraction for rubes as the financials get worse.
What is Mars but a large island?
For a fun little bit of trivia about the future Buccaneer Boosters and Caravel launch system: I am not radioactive like Elon Musk.
"Prefer reality TV to science". Oh the irony. As if near-term Mars colonization isn't anything but science fiction.
I just realized some of the mid-deck experiments would be flown on STS-26. (The episodes were recorded two months apart.)
As we prepare for Artemis 2, let's remember those lost. Talking for 2 hours about Challenger, and yet not enough.

All I can think of at the moment is that video of Ceausescu's final speech, when he realizes he's lost control and his government is doomed.
Europa III KYR coming eventually.
Don't forget your magnetic shower!

I should do an Artemis II launch livestream.
Beware: all of my Artemis I streams ended with scrubs.
