Since this morning, protests in Tehran have intensified in response to the worsening economic situation.
Based on the Abdorrahman Boroumand Centerβs monitoring, the Islamic Republic has carried out at least 1,871 executions in Iran since the start of 2025.
Of those, 189 executions have been recorded in just the first 17 days of December.

Kourosh Sadri Najafi was tried by the Islamic Republicβs Military Revolutionary Court for his involvement in the formation of the post-revolutionary Nima group of army officers, participation in National Front demonstrations, and mobilizing nationalists and monarchists.
His case became one of the most striking examples of unfair judicial proceedings in Iran.

On 3 November 2022, concurrent with the 40-day commemoration ceremony for Hadis Najafi, security forces fired pellet rounds at Sepehr Azami, striking him in the face and chest.
He succumbed to his injuries 33 days later in the hospital due to the severity of the wounds.
The Abdorrahman Boroumand Center has documented at least 1,728 executions in Iran so far in 2025, including 303 in November, the deadliest month of the year. In just the first four days of December, 46 more people have been executed.

The body of #Atefeh_Naami, an activist in the βWoman, Life, Freedomβ protests, was found in her home in Karaj on November 26, 2022.
She joined the protests because she said she couldnβt stay silent. She distributed her handwritten notes among people, urging everyone to join the protests.
Three days later, on November 18, IRGC forces chased him down in Aliabad, forced him to stop, and killed him with a barrage of bullets.

On the night of November 15, 2022, Shahriar Mohammadi secretly removed the body of his friend, Mohammad Hassanzadehβkilled during the protestsβfrom Gholipour Hospital in Bukan to prevent security forces from seizing it, and took it to his hometown village.
He believed that because of his age, the security forces would not shoot him.

Mr. Habibollah Fathi was actively involved in the βWoman, Life, Freedomβ protests in the city of Divandarreh. He stayed in contact with the young protesters, trying to look after them and advise them on how to maintain their personal safety.
As he fell to the ground, security forces fired a final bullet into his forehead.

Omid Moβayedi was 20 years old β a protester enraged by the killing of Nika Shakarami. Around 9 p.m. on November 15, 2022, on Pasdaran Boulevard in Shiraz, he was shot in the back with pellets while trying to help a detained protester.
According to the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, the Islamic Republic has carried out at least 1,543 executions in Iran since the start of 2025, the highest level in 30 years, averaging one person every five hours. November alone accounts for 166 executions to date.
On the night of November 15, 2022, around 11 p.m., in Kamyaran, Foad Mohammadi was shot and killed by Revolutionary Guard forces using live ammunition.

At his memorial, Foad Mohammadiβs wife said: βMy love, you believed in equality between women and men. You used to say that until women are free, society will never be free. My love, you opposed the exploitation of workers and said, βWe build homes for others, yet we have no home of our own.ββ
