I am in Canada, individuals from other countries are generally not charged for emergency medical care. However, they must present a valid health ins. card to receive non emergency services. If they do not have a health insurance card, they'll be responsible for the full cost of emergency services.

They still do turn people away, if you have no insurance coverage or are of a colour other than white. An hispanic woman in labor was turned away because of no insurance and ended up delivering her baby in the parking lot. The US really is a shithole country now.

Free and equal access to healthcare for its citizens, not so for people who are not from that country. As it should be, taxpayers to that country are the only ones who should be granted free healthcare.
