Fair. Itβs impressive that they manage it without sacrificing quality.
The Costco hot dog is pretty solid though. It certainly doesnβt taste like a $1.50 hot dog that also comes with a drink.

Genuinely the worst thing about Xenoblade 3. It feels like chapters 6 and 7 are just βGo! Go! Letβs wrap this up!β Without ever really slowing down to let us know how the characters feel about everything.
the first half of a parallel image set. sf-a2 miki as she appears in "human", in black and white, is facing towards the camera with her expression visible. she is gazing in dazed awe at a second depiction of herself, in full color, whose face is not visible to the camera. her future self is guiding the hands of her current self into embracing a glowing star.
the second half of a parallel image set. kagamine len as he appears in "ego renegade boy", in a male uniform with a bandaged face, is facing towards the camera with his expression visible. he is smiling tenderly at a second depiction of himself, in a female uniform clutching an alice band, whose face is not visible to the camera. his current self is patting the head of his past self as he runs ahead.

Fanart of Pokemon Winds and Waves. In the upper left, the trainer (boy) in the Pokemon Winds outfit makes a finger heart sign towards the viewer. Browt sits on his shoulder with a wing up. In the background is a semi-transparent Philippine flag and Kuya Kim. On the right, the trainer (girl) in the Pokemon Waves outfit sits on a plastic white stool with her backpack on the ground. She eats a strawberry iskrambol, a Filipino dessert usually made with shaved ice and condensed milk topped with chocolate syrup, marshmallows, and more. Gecqua is curled up on her lap while Pombun looks up and rests a paw on her shoe. On the upper right, a small doodle of the two trainers with their hands in the air scream "Putangina!" with a silly smile. The text below them says "Uy Philippines!"

Oh wait yeah is this the first time they aren't "red and blue" in spirit?

I like Pombon. And Winds and Waves look... good? Possibly? And a 2027 release date is reassuring.

I forgot what was supposed to be controversial about this until I remembered that Keasbey Nights exists. (Which I kinda view as its own separate thing.) Out of their other albums though, Dinosaur Sounds is absolutely my favorite.
Counterpoint?
? I havenβt played the Switch 2 edition of BotW very much but that doesnβt sound right. Itβs just a resolution and frame rate update. I donβt see why that wouldnβt get an upgrade as well. (Plus I feel like I would have heard about that.)
Itβs nice that Xenoblade X is getting a Switch 2 edition but I have already done most of what there is to do in that game and I donβt plan on replaying it anytime soon. It just feels oddly timed.
BotW had DLC and got a Switch 2 edition. I donβt see how that affects anything.
I keep seeing people use the "It's not _____, it's ____" construction as a red flag for AI writing, and folks? We don't have to concede the concept of juxtapositions to the machines. It's a very useful rhetorical device, stop being weird about it.
I have felt that each modern Paper Mario has been an improvement on the last though, and given the quality of the TTYD remake, Iβm very hopeful that the next Paper Mario will be a good one.
For what itβs worth, I think thereβs room for a game that pleases both types of fans. The games all already exist, so the only real debate is about the future of the series, and I think the best of both worlds is very possible. It would certainly be nice if fans didnβt get so heated so quickly.
Oh I love how textured this is and the way you draw Noelle is so fun.
they should be friends i think
Although as much as Iβd love a Paper Mario 7 that feels like a return to form, I do think thereβs a lot of potential in future indie successors, and Iβm glad weβve been getting them.
I think my ideal βPaper Mario 7β would probably be like. TOK level design (but with the addition of partner abilities), and TTYD combat and writing, with 3 to 5 well fleshed out partners. (TTYD remake art style too but thatβs a little less important.)
Personally though I find that the battles being fun is more important than the overworld. Or at the very least, the overworld improvements in the modern games do not outweigh the battles being far less interesting.
I donβt think the level design is a big problem in 64 though. Especially with how minimal the backtracking is in that one. Although TOK, CS, and the indie successors are definitely a lot more interesting in that regard. (Even if I think the modern Paper Marios are a bit lacking in terms of puzzles.)
I can definitely agree with the modern PMs and indie successors having better level design (for the most part). TTYD has some bits that get really annoying and samey, although I think when itβs in its more βdungeon-likeβ areas it tends to be a lot better.
