T-Mobile is once again throwing in free MLB.tv with most subscriptions--but this year, this would also seem to qualify you for a discount on in-market streaming for the 22 teams offering it through the app. (In the case of the Nats, the added cost is just $50.) Am checking that with T-Mo PR now. ⚾

This is so good, y'all! (I'd say that even if it didn't include a shout-out to potica.)

With no print newspaper to read at the dining table for breakfast and lunch, I find I'm finally making a dent in the monthly or less-frequent magazines that show up at our house--just to stop myself from scrolling while eating as if I'm at a work event.

Some rare good news in cybersecurity. The foundation of the vulnerability management ecosystem is secured, thanks to some great work by our embattled friends at CISA. Great reporting by @metacurity.com

One of my longer-running complaints with Apple Mail for macOS: the goldfish brain behind its address autocomplete, made even more perplexing by the way the Previous Recipients list will sometimes show somebody you haven't conversed with in years.

Love this idea.

(The footer of DCPL's site doesn't link to their account here, but they did confirm it via their X account last January. I don't love it when Web design hides a good alternative to a toxic social platform.)

Good thing automakers had never wavered from its commitment to a shift to EVs...

The cherry blossoms may not yet be in bloom, but I see another rite of spring in Washington has already begun: dudes standing around a table in the yard of their rented house to play beer pong. (cc @capitalweather.bsky.social)

Lindsey Graham’s Quest to Sell Trump on Striking Iran Few others in the president’s ear argued for the attack as effectively as South Carolina’s senior senator.

To call Graham's ally Marc Thiessen a "onetime chief speechwriter for former President George W. Bush" is to neglect his history of torture advocacy and his current gig as a Washington Post op-ed columnist who has kept that role despite being far below replacement value as a pundit.

That piece definitely has some "Sy Hersh on Nord Stream" vibes.

That's not what this article says, notably not even in the headline. It says an anonymous source said that the AI use was *likely*. The source has no personal knowledge and is noting that it is the "immediate theory". Let's keep this clear.

LH making questionable decisions is understandable, but the only year-round nonstop flight from any U.S. city to BER is United's nonstop from EWR. They tried adding a seasonal nonstop from IAD, but canceled that after a year.

Had a version of that problem for the first time in a while Wednesday trying to check in online for an LX flight booked (non-codeshare) via UA. My first name and middle initial fused together led passport validation on LX's site to fail; airport check-in worked fine.

Exclusive: Politico founder plots new Washington newspaper war A damaged Washington Post could face a big new challenger.

As Christopher Buckley fans should remember, one of the two D.C. newspapers in Thank You For Smoking was the Washington Sun, so I think this needs to happen. And then it would only be fitting for the Washington Times to live out Buckley's joke in that novel and rename itself the Washington Moon.

$8.75 a person for the AirTrain from JFK to the subway or LIRR is $2 more than the peak fare for Metro from IAD to any other train station or bus stop in the system (which on weekends is $2.50). WMATA >>> PANYNJ.

Thanks! FWIW, I'm already booked to talk to PATACs/OPCUG on April 18. I think they said were going to bring in the Pi as well, so if they haven't you should ask and tell them I sent you.

Arlington's elections office should be posting here instead of relying on X as its short-form-text social outlet, but the e-mail I sent to them in my capacity as a poll worker does not seem to have been persuasive enough.

"When the bombs hit in Iran, I thought of Jack Dorsey" is one of those ledes that should have gotten an immediate strikethrough from an editor.

Friday news-dump timing for a three-page document (not counting the cover letter and front and back covers) that leads off with a commitment to "deploy the full suite of U.S.
government defensive and offensive cyber operations" against attackers.

I haven't seen this dialog--yet!--but I can think of way too many other examples of nanny-state behavior by Apple in which the company assumes I am incapable of making a long-term security decision.

With Washington Post Local diminished, other news sites step up their D.C. coverage The 51st, City Cast, and The Baltimore Banner are among the outlets to announce expansions of Washington, D.C. metro area coverage since the Post layoffs.

Good post from @speppered.bsky.social caught me up on what three local news operations--the 51st, City Cast and the Banner--are doing to fill the enormous hole in D.C. coverage opened up by the Washington Post's abdication. Sports continues to look like the least-filled gap.
