Funnily enough, I find myself on both sides of the spectrum, having started programming a long time ago, but also having felt rusty for the last few years.

Very much this
Just when I finally had decided to try sst.
Might skip a generation and go for this.
Do you enjoy the show?
Did not realize he's here @kfw.bsky.social
I will not make an attempt to describe the texture when the man himself is always thorough and articulate keithfullertonwhitman.com/occlusions
Some days I wake up craving music of a certain texture. Today it was an Occlusions kinda day

But, butβ¦
A screenshot of a terminal window showing the commands I've ran the most in 2024, powered by `atuin wrapped`
hah #atuin
Missed it I have not
Skill issue, Iβm sure, but back to manual extension reloading for now
Vite is magic when it works, but the dance of config options and target directories has reminded me of my worst require.js days.
Iβm no βno build step jsβ purist but today I decided to try crxjs for a chrome extension Iβve been idling on and what a productivity sink.
Ok, no pressure π (Namecheap api)
I'm reaching some corners in in the gh cli, where `gh secret set` does not create secrets in your repo if it's a fork (creates them in upstream).
Real fun that

Lack of rest is self perpetuating
The biggest threat to my sleep is not having had a productive day
Which often comes from having had a bad nightβs sleep the night beforeβ¦ and so and so
One big problem with induction stoves is that you'll be trying to heat up some soup or whatever but it will keep drawing general principles from specific instances
Nice! I tricked myself into migrating my wifeβs Wordpress site to hetzner by doing it with pulumi (I wasnβt terribly excited about it before that). Your write up just reminded me that I never did one π¬
Hah no no, I don't think I phrased my question clearly. Sorry.
I meant, are there advantages that svelte would have over react for the specific usecase of tldraw.
Do you see specific advantages for the use case? Honest question. I loved your workshop yesterday and of course Steveβs talk, and just getting back into the frontend world and itβs frustrating to have toβ¦ βpick sidesβ
No, totally, and I think they have worked extremely well. Just that itβs too easy to get glutton with them.
Iβm at 100 unfollows and counting. Itβs just too impersonal
I think starter packs might end up lowering engagement in the long run. I followed a few just to populate my feed with general interests but the magic of tw⦠Bluesky is following the folks whose unique voice you really enjoy.
βSeriouslyβ
Been inspired to finally take prompting a bit more seriously and am now trying to make Claude teach me algorithms in the style of The Little Schemer. Not quite there, but getting fun.
I *love* instagram unskippable ad breaks. They are the perfect "well I didn't want to be here anyway" reminder.
I guess pressure factor and the fact Iβve been prepping the materials for a while play a role of course, but I feel just trying the talk a few times would have led me to way shorter prep time. Weβll see
Iβve done a couple recordings today (of course, the day before the talk) and itβs amazing how clear the flaws and holes in your arc present themselves. I canβt imagine any amount of slide rearranging being nearly as effective
Next talk I give, Iβm going to start rehearsing / recording myself right after jotting down the first napkin version bullet points
