I am a legend at returning home from a holiday. Just look at this. FIVE loads of washing cleaned in one day. What a hero.

There are some trendy new places near Coal Drops yard if you wanted a cocktail. They’re on my list to discover. I mention because the outdoor spaces between StP and those venues might actually be perfect on a day like today. Unless you’re a vampire. :)

Sir, my favourite pub in London is the Euston Tap - size of a postage stamp but the outdoor tables will be nice in the sunshine & the beer range, kept perfectly, is sublime. Secondly, the Parcel Yard is quite large for a station pub, and has enough nooks to hide in and have a conversation to work.

And so, farewell ebuyer. Acta est fabula, plaudite!
I enjoyed working there in pre Howden Dyke days & met many friends who positively shaped my life. It was where I built my first BGP networks, 41021 (warehouse) and 41029 (website) -- the latter connected to LONAP. 41029 is now reassigned.

This is what I came here to say :) We should definitely try this at all levels of government. I want to be the weekend only foreign secretary.

Running the IOS26 beta on my iPad and reflecting on how the tablet and desktop look and feel are now very similar. Is it time to predict the end of the laptop form factor?

Cooking almost authentic lamb kebabs from Modern today and somehow have no soy sauce!! Panic’d and using Henderson’s Relish and salt in a truly Sheffield remix…..

There’s ordinary perfection, and then there’s Kylie. Thank you, Kylie, for visiting Sheffield (the UK’s undisputed capital of cool) during the Tension tour. You were fantastic.

An eloquent letter to the prime minister that needs more oxygen. Encouraging immigration is the most pro-UK policy that one could dream of.

In Britain you now pay in a cheque by photographing it from your bank’s portable telephone application.

And it clears in about a day! Amazing. (I received my first cheque in about a decade from my health insurer as a disbursement for reading glasses.)

Tonight we watched the film Conclave. I was instantly transported back in time to all the Wednesday evening RIPE NCC board elections, which used papal voting for two seats. No white smoke, no food for we voters. It was brutal and effective.

The IPv4 internet is one million prefixes large at last. I personally configured my first eBGP session on 9th June 2006 and there were rather.... fewer.

ebyr-hd-2821-kcom#show ip bgp sum
BGP router identifier xxxx, local AS number 41021
191006 network entries using 22347702 bytes of memory

I think the decision makes sense given the real disagreement over the charging scheme for the registry. It makes sense for the basics to be settled before the things that are beneficial but extra.

It needs to host in the opposite of London! Maybe the antipode, or one of the places called Little London like the one near Leeds. There’s a Little London Place here in Sheffield near the big Lidl.

I’ve torn my left tendon (whatever that means) so will be hanging up the running shirts for a while. It means those shirts won’t fit after this period of enforced rest and that I’m likely to be even more unbearable for a while.

Agree capital intensity normally drives towards fewer larger companies but what is it about the step to 800G which is driving fundamentally different r&d our capital costs?

Yep, it was the everything shop for a long time. But in the last five to ten years it has become eye watering expensive. So folks stopped going there. :-(
