We are deeply saddened by the passing of Joan, Founder and Executive Director of the Rella Women’s Foundation, who passed away yesterday in a tragic accident. She will be greatly missed, and we are grateful for the incredible work she did in support of LBQ women.
David Kato’s legacy lives in every act of courage that insists on dignity, safety, and truth. As we remember him, we recommit to building a future where every LGBTQ+ person can live openly, safely, and without fear. The work continues — and so does his light.

Burkina Faso’s Parliament passed a law on 2nd September 2025, first approved by President Ibrahim Traoré in July 2024.
Offenders now face 2–5 years in prison and fines for “promoting homosexuality.”
We stand in solidarity with queer people in Burkina Faso.
This brings us to a broader, urgent point: Uganda desperately needs needs comprehensive sexuality education. Adolescents are growing up in a world where they encounter conflicting messages from peers, media, and society, often without reliable guidance.
