SpaceX just paid like $250B for this POS that now has to be rebooted.
@montanaskeptic
Unloved by Elon (who once tried to get me fired), disgusted at "conservatives" who turned out to be Trump cultists, hoping Democrats will get healthier, and wishing Congress would do its damned job. I write at montanaskeptic.substack.com

terrible
No word yet, except that two planes were involved, one of which landed safely (which may or may not be accurate). Perhaps a mishap during refueling. Just don't know.
I pray we lost no one. But, not good...
Anthropic is a "supply chain risk" but defence contractor SpaceX platforming Ayadildo Khamenei isn't. It's ok though because he's only calling for death to America and threatening "highly vulnerable" targets. How did he pay his $8 with the sanctions? And how did His Nibs verify him?
Nasdaq and S&P 500 in a race to the bottom.
Just like, in the context of corporate governance, Texas and Nevada.
Donβt look at it as negative free cash flow. Look at it as CapEx for xAI.
Not much meat in this promotional sandwich.
But he did say that nuclear propulsion is being developed so we can go to Mars. So is Musk's Starship is already obsolete?
I wish he would ask Congress to repeal it. A perfect opportunity. Except Trump has no regard for his Duma, and wonβt trouble himself to ask it for anything.
in these challenging times it's so inspiring to know that Elon Musk has been able to upgrade his Gulfstream G650 to a brand new G800, which goes Mach .935 instead of a mere Mach .925
Hmmm. Not black and white to me. I blame the small donation culture that incentivizes performance art instead of legislative compromise, & the primary system that results in extremist candidates. Among other things⦠No doubt you have your list.
The idiocracy is bi-partisan.
Wall Street loves Elon Musk because he creates massive thundering herds of clueless investors, whose weakest and most confused members are easily preyed upon.
Interesting look at the SPVs that are scalping investors trying to get SpaceX exposure ahead of the IPO

Let us know what he says, if he has the guts to respond.
Ironic name.
Heβs a slime ball.
Tesla $TSLA China Sales - Feb Update
- CPCA reported 20,393 Export and 38,206 Domestic sales in Feb.
- The sales pattern is pretty much unchanged from what we've seen over the past 3 years.
- Sales in the Middle East, which were doing well, are likely to tank in March.
The Republicans have worked so damned hard to become the party of gross fiscal irresponsibility (remember OBBBA?), and now the Democrats are fighting hard to take back that honor.
Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury rate recognizes that the competition will continue until we go over a cliff.
Here's the news item from Reuters, which makes no bones about the fact that "for executives and early investors, that βdeeper liquidity could reduce the market impact of large sell orders once lockup periods expire"
insiders cash out, retirees get left with the bag
www.reuters.com/business/fin...
for folks keeping track of this stuff at home, the real answer to the question "how on god's green earth is Tesla worth over a trillion dollars despite being a blatant scam grafted onto a failing car business?" is "because every new retirement account has to buy it as part of the S&P index"
No surprise that Musk is running over local opposition & environmental concerns. Take comfort, though, this will all come to naught, as xAI is far behind in the AI race, and falling further behind as talented potential employees - aware of Musk's tyrannical reputation - find work elsewhere.
@davidkotok.bsky.social has some interesting data on the effects of the Hormuz Strait interdiction, along with useful historical reminders and a short list of financial indicators to watch.

Superb work from @keubiko.bsky.social on how Nasdaq & Musk, loving the age of index funds, are about to make certain that retail investors end up owning grossly overvalued garbage while the insiders hoover up the cash.
It's a great and important book by a brilliant writer. Thanks for pointing me to it some years back, Andreas.
Williamson certainly believes EVs have their place, and can be beneficial. It's a nuanced piece and thank you for reading it.
Kevin D. Williamson, as usual, digs deeper than most on Chinese EVs and environmental reality:
"EV subsidies may be advertised as climate policy, but effectively they also are petrochemical subsidies."

βHelp is on the wayβ
This makes me want vomit. Not sure whatβs more disgusting - an issuer extorting a supposedly regulated stock exchange, or the exchange bending over for it. Index inclusion 15 days post-IPO. At a bare minimum this should be AFTER any lockups. Stuffing overpriced stock on 401(k) plans etc.
Swisherβs typically excellent work, with characteristic deep research.
being a hater doesn't pay well, but at least you get listed as a risk factor in their SEC filings
