The singer of the German black metal band Morsch mid-performance, raising his fist with intensity. His long, wild dreadlocks partially obscure his face as he grips the microphone, channeling raw emotion. The venue exudes a warm, intimate atmosphere, with wooden bookshelves filled with aged books lining the background. The dim, golden lighting casts dramatic shadows, enhancing the contrasting energy between the performerβs intensity and the venueβs cozy, old-world charm.

The image captures the guitarists of the pre-Hispanic war metal band Chβahom in the midst of an intense live performance. The foreground musician, with long flowing hair and intricate tattoos, wields a black, angular electric guitar adorned with tribal and skull motifs, reflecting the bandβs aesthetic. His face is marked with warpaint, amplifying the ritualistic energy of the scene. In the background, another guitarist, partially obscured by shadows and warm lighting, contributes to the sonic assault, his expression fierce and engaged. The venueβs cozy, wooden interior lined with old bookshelves contrasts sharply with the bandβs aggressive presence, creating a visually striking juxtaposition between the raw power of the performance and the intimate, almost mystical setting.
The image showcases the full lineup of Chβahom, the pre-Hispanic war metal band, mid-performance, exuding raw energy and defiance. With fists raised high, the musicians channel an intense, warrior-like presence, reinforcing the bandβs ritualistic and war aesthetic.
Yesterday, Chβahom and Morsch stopped in Feldkirch, AT, to dust off the bookshelves of the Antiquariat Chybulski.
Iβve posted all the photos and a few words there: www.lucinogen.com/events/chahom-morsch-20250307-feldkirch-at

#Opeth visited Munich for a sold out Muffathalle and Iβm grateful I got to shoot them for The Progspace.

Asides from the jokes, we were even treated to a 2-second Napalm Death cover π₯²

New week new playlist! Featured this week: Rien Virgule / Ataraxie / Decline Of The I / Morast / HΓ€xenzijrkell / Givre / Death Like Mass
Couldnβt help myself from adding a βThe Decline of the Iβ song. Been obsessed with this record since its release a few days ago
#np #blackmetalsky #doommetalsky
I really enjoyed the simplest things this week!
Special mention to Akira Kurosawaβs vivid Dreams and Jim Jarmuschβs ode to daily life, Paterson!
#letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched
The (much) expected (imho) Decline of the I record is out today.
Quite a busy release day with new records from DΓ©lirant, Hangmanβs Chair, Pothamus, Novarupta and Black Narcissus.
Also listening to Membaris, which came out a few days ago.
Anything I missed?
#metalsky #releasefriday
Already stoked about that one.

I think thatβs also the record that stuck and that I missed last year!
Phrenelith has been my highlight this week! Catchy one. I hear you about the Obscura record - been following the drama too and I didnβt follow up on that one as a result either.
Thanks!
When posting 4 pictures from Flashes, a white bottom border appeared on all my pictures. You can see it in the post below:
In this dramatic black and white concert photograph, Jozef Van Wissem is captured in an intense moment of performance, head tilted back with long hair while playing the lute. The atmospheric scene is enhanced by swirling smoke or stage fog that creates a mystical, ethereal quality around the performer, who is dressed in dark clothing against a black background.ββββββββββββββββ
This black and white concert photograph shows a minimalist concert setup, with the solitary lutist Jozef Van Wissem seated on stage performing amidst vintage-style oriental rugs and simple stage lighting from above. The stark composition emphasizes the intimate nature of the performance, with the musician positioned in the center of the frame, surrounded by darkness.

This atmospheric black and white concert photo captures the lutist Jozef Van Wissem performing on a stage bathed in smoke and dramatic vertical lighting, while silhouettes of audience members in the foreground create a sense of depth and intimacy. The industrial venue setting, with its visible ceiling beams and stark lighting, creates a striking contrast between the medieval instrument and the modern performance space, while the smoke adds a dreamlike quality to the scene.ββββββββββββββββ
@jozefvanwissem.bsky.social yesterday in Munich - a mesmerizing atmospheric performance haunting the industrial Zirka venue.

Good morning! I was about to post from Flashes when I noticed that we cannot see the possible accounts when typing @ β¦ etc.
Have to listen to the Saor record as well, thanks! Haha indeed a bit more releases this week. I hesitated adding a heads up for the new Shagor record also to be released tomorrow!
#np: the new #Phrenelith record and up next is #Morast and #Noctambulist, all released today!
Whatβs on your radar today, release wise?

The black and white photograph shows drummer Kenny Grohowski performing on stage at Roadburn 2023, captured in a dramatic high-contrast style. He is seated at a drum kit and wearing the distinctive masked attire associated with the avant-garde metal band Imperial Triumphant, which features elaborate, art deco-inspired costumes. The mask obscures his face completely, creating a striking silhouette against what appears to be stage lighting.ββββββββββββββββ
A black and white photograph shows Imperial Triumphant guitarist Zachary Ezrin performing at Roadburn 2023, captured in dramatic high-contrast. He is wearing the band's signature art deco-inspired mask, which in this case features a crown of metal spikes radiating outward. The mask has distinct facial features and designs etched into it, dramatically lit to emphasize its contours. The image is tightly cropped on the mask and upper body, with the rest fading to black, creating a striking and ominous portrait that aligns with the band's avant-garde black metal aesthetic.ββββββββββββββββ
A black and white photograph shows Imperial Triumphant bassist Steve Blanco performing at Roadburn 2023, captured in dramatic contrast. The image shows him in the band's signature formal attire while playing both trombone (shown in a striking diagonal line across the frame) and electric bass guitar (visible in the lower portion of the frame). His art deco-inspired mask is partially visible, with its distinctive horned design. The composition creates an interesting geometric interplay between the two instruments, with the electric bass guitar positioned below the trombone, all set against a dark background that emphasizes the dramatic stage lighting.ββββββββββββββββ
A black and white photograph captures a dramatic moment at the finale of an Imperial Triumphant performance where bassist Steve Blanco, in the foreground wearing their signature hooded formal attire and art deco-inspired mask, is spraying champagne at the end of their performance at Roadburn 2023. The image dramatically captures the champagne spray creating an explosive pattern of droplets against the dark background, illuminated by stage lighting.
As #ImperialTriumphant announced their forthcoming tour with #Igorrr & #MasterBootRecord yesterday, I thought about sharing a few shots of the band at #Roadburn 2023, playing their record βSpirit of Ecstasyβ in full.

Looking forward to the record!
Maybe worth asking more widely people but maybe best to have the same approach for all photos?
There might be a loss of quality with resizing so maybe be less favourable, I donβt know .. thinking out loud :)
It looks like when there are several photos in a post, that creates a carousel and the photos are getting resized to the square format.
And for posts with only one photo the original ratio is kept.
Is this normal? Iβm trying to understand the different photo formats
Thanks, looking great so far! (and posting this from Flashes! ππ»)
Is that normal that we see also on our profile the images posted as replies to other usersβ posts? Would there be a way to hide them from our profile?
iOS users, we can test now the Instagram-like Bluesky application!
Oh yeah!!
With how rapidly Blue Sky has been growing, I've been curious to see which metal labels have created accounts here
I've organized the labels I am aware of into this starter pack
