I've been trying to figure out how to get my game onto this list when it has no humanoid characters or dialogue or civilization
Shout out to The Legend of Zelda after 40 years! A game whose sense of exploration and adventure still feels unparalleled to me in many ways.

when I was first learning unity I wanted a zelda-style hp bar with hearts, but I didn't know about arrays or anything, so I named each heart "1", "2", "3", etc. and when you lost hp it would find and hide the game object whose name was your current amount of hp
just found out they discontinued the best calypso flavor (cucumber limeade) and yet paradise punch, famously fucking minging, remains
