A new feature in #Solpage generates a chart depicting angular separations between celestial bodies. Here it uniquely demonstrates a Venus-centric right angle with Mercury and Uranus (19 Feb). Multi-centric observation is essential for understanding Solar System dynamics.
Analysis of Earth-Saturn-Neptune conjunctions since 1900 show seismic potential up to ~M6.5. But when converging with more geometry, like in 1917 (6 alignments, 3 M7 quakes), seismic potential increases dramatically, confirmed by statistics of dense conjunction clusters.

The usual clustering of stronger (M≥5.5) #earthquakes from 5-14 February occurred almost symmetrically with the geometric peaks that we discussed when this time-frame commenced. These seismic bursts demonstrate seismic modulation related to planetary and lunar geometry.
There is strong evidence that comet #ISON (2013), #Kirch (1680) and #Negra (1347) are the same object. Orbital synchronicity between the comet and Earth suggests Earth went through the comet's tail in December 1347 causing widespread destruction.

With the latest #Solpage and #SSGI version we are updating example illustrations. This is the planetary and lunar geometry on 3-5 February 2023. Most critical was the convergence of Sun-Venus-Jupiter with Mercury-Sun-Uranus at Full Moon (Moon-Earth-Sun).

This month marks the 10 years anniversary of our in-house software #Solpage, which reached version 10 last year. Development came out of a need to compute geometry from any centric view, not just geocentric or heliocentric.
3/3 Seismic and volcanic potential around Crete should not be underestimated. Most recent seismic activity at the Hellenic arc peaked M 5.0 on 7 February 2026.
2/3 This implies an average ~750 years recurrence interval. The youngest EWE occurred in 365 AD, which is almost 1700 years ago.
These EWEs do not just impact Crete's coastal areas, but the entire Eastern Mediterranean, including the Adriatic Sea.
1/3 According to a 2019 study (see link) the Eastern Mediterranean region has been affected by 10 Extreme Water Events (EWE) or tsunamis from large earthquakes along the Hellenic Arc and Santorini eruptions in the last 7500 years.

1/2 An obvious cluster of stronger (M ≥ 5.5) #earthquakes occurred yesterday following the sequence of planetary and lunar geometry from 9 to 12 May. Stronger tremors tend to occur in temporal clusters (without spatial component), i.e in a short time in different regions.

The strongest #earthquake in the last two weeks was M 6.6 at the Southeast Indian Ridge. Note the temporal clustering of M ≥ 5.5 earthquakes depicted on the #SSGI graph. Stronger earthquakes tend to occur in clusters, rather than on average.

The strong Mw 6.2 #earthquake in the Sea of #Marmara today occurred in a region that has not experienced major earthquakes in at least the last 500 years. Tremors occurred to the west and east in 1509, 1766 and the 20th century (1912-1999). Today's event could be a foreshock.

M ≥ 7.8 #earthquakes occur 2-3 times a year on average. However, in reality earthquakes don't occur on average, as shown in the graph. To date, the record holder is 1906 with no less than 7 events, including the San Francisco #earthquake. Second is 2007 with 6 events.

2/3 At the time, Uranus and Neptune were on opposite sides of the Solar System. Large earthquakes occurred repeatedly when Earth and the Moon made critical geometry with these outer planets. The San Francisco earthquake is just one example.

1/3 On this day in 1906 San Francisco was devastated by a M 7.9 #earthquake. At that time, 3 M ≥ 7.0 earthquake occurred in just 5 days.
To date 1906 is seismically still the most active year on record with no less than 22 M ≥ 7.0 and 7 M ≥ 7.8 earthquakes, 5(!) of which reached M ≥ 8.
As we're nearing 4 years since the last M8+ earthquake, statistics show that previous gaps since 1900 ended after 4-5 years. One exceptional gap from 1977-1985 lasted more than 7 years. Data also show that the next one is not necessarily very large. Only 2 out of 5 were 8.5+.
While Earth's atmosphere is a different medium with different mechanisms than Earth's crust, there are interesting parallels to consider between earthquakes and lightning, as both manifest as a sudden discharge resulting from energy built-up.

We have updated our #SSGI models. They now show curved peaks instead of blocked peaks. It's been on our wish list for a long time.

In our weekly #SSGI video analyses, we always use a M ≥ 5.5 threshold. This is because specific planetary conjunction clusters statistically result in a seismic increase. These stats are based on the same conjunction cluster definition used for our M ≥ 7.4 analysis.
There is not just an absence of magnitude 8+ earthquakes since 2021. This quake drought is also reflected in magnitude 7.8+ earthquakes.
