I agree. Apple is likely a good comparison company here: expensive product with high margins, very high penetration in US/EU and low market share elsewhere, built on brand value
glad you enjoyed π
I got posted to hn for the first time. hopefully next time I will get more points
I think a recession is harmful if it happens, but I am not certain the labs are going to be responsible in any way
I think it's entirely possible that:
1. there's a successful exit, and no flop
2. there's a recession that triggers interest rates, causing a flop
3. there's a recession but the AI co's have enough cash in the bank to sustain through
4. the AI labs face a correction but the market keeps chugging on
> But I worry about the fallout and impacts on people
some folks have noted that a *correction in valuation of AI companies* is arriving at the same time as *fears of widespread recession*. it's not really a sure thing that either one would necessarily cause the other, as I understand it.
do LLMs have knowledge of their own token boundaries?
here deepseek claims to be counting per-token in an array. is it correct?
you could RL this, right? is there any point in doing so?
this was an interesting one to write. I am very optimistic about the economic upsides of AI. but I am having trouble seeing how the valuations currently are unworkably high.
I would love to be wrong. see what you think:

are you xposting everything with a script / app?
logi m575. I have wrist pain that comes and goes, either a consequence of climbing or bad posture or both, and this helps enormously
finally got my mac mini and yeah, itβs Mini
you can simply Not Engage
bsky was appealing to me because of its incredible technological foundation. fascinating to me that so many other people are here that seem to have no idea how itβs different from x dot com
this is a feature of bluesky. itβs a decentralized platform, meaning my data is mine, and your data is yours, and none of it belongs to bluesky. so they literally do not have the power to stop anyone from adding anyone else to a list. Itβs a good thing and prevents censorship
scan of a book page, showing a logo. it is a drawn black and white panda, its legs wide as if sitting reclined, pensive. logo is numbered 189 in lower left

whatβs the gist of what you can build on top of it thatβs exciting?
I'm incredibly excited about what we've built and what's coming soon. creating software has literally never been so accessible
people and agents need the same things
restrictions inspire creativity
find the right amount of expressiveness
it turns out that as we've been designing for an agent, we've really just been designing for people. giving the right amount of guidance with a strong design system and simple controls gives really great results.
here's one more bonus sneak peek of another concept we're exploring: imagine pointing to a part of your app and asking for a change, without ever looking at code. that's what you can see here:
