This is a useful lesson to anyone using ChatGPT or other AI for research. I see students submitting clearly AI generated texts, where they obviously haven’t even read through them. AI is a useful tool in education but it’s not a replacement for rigorous research and critical thinking.

As a teacher I work with young people, barely out of childhood. Vibrant with life and brimming over with potential. Excited and chaotic and full of possibility. They deserve better. They deserve a world that allows them to be the best person that they can be.

It feels like we are edging ever close to global war. I sometimes ponder, what would humankind have achieved if we didn’t allow ourselves to be led by warmongers? If we didn’t send out young people out to their deaths? What potential has been wasted at the all-consuming altar of warfare?

We need more Sheens and less Clarksons.

Yes, I feel your pain. I have had to ask my friends and family not to send me any gifts from the UK because it costs too much to receive them, and the process to prove they are gifts below the limit is deliberately convoluted.
