Can cities just replace parking spots with trees?
One borough of Montreal has been experimenting with quick, cheap implementations of this for greenery, shade, and water management.
But there’s been controversy due to losing parking and the fact that it doesn’t look as polished as bigger projects.
Why does Saint John require a 200m buffer for shelters and tent sites, but only 150m for heavy industry? We’re saying people needing shelter are a bigger threat to our neighbourhoods’ quality of life than factories. What does that say about our priorities?
Electric school buses have zero tailpipe emissions. They’re also cleaner, quieter, and better for kids’ health—and our climate.
