...why else would they name their company after the sound of someone sneezing while trying to say ALPHA?

The bottom of a potentiometer with the brand name EMPHUA embossed on it.
EMPHUA potentiometers?
I mean... is that the result of someone in China attempting to say "yes, its ALPHA potentiometers we're cloning. They need to say ALPHA on the bottom" over the phone, and there being a slight misunderstanding?
I feel a little leeway can be granted if its not explicitly designed to go into space. ๐
but look how badly wrong it could go! REJECT! ๐ฑ
I mean... apparently 'disturbed' solder is a reject. ๐ค
I've been doing this for 25 years, but i don't think i'd last a week at 1960's Nasa.
thats 'soldering basics...' ๐ค
Nasa Soldering 'Basics', probably from the mid 60's.
Well... the mere half an hour in todays schedule put aside for "Mondays random arguing with couriers and aliexpress" was hopelessly optimistic.
"With its PNP type configuration, this transistor is known for its stability and durability, making it a popular choice among engineers and technicians in the semiconductor industry" ๐ค
yeah, in 1965 maybe, and probably not even then!
Put it in a drawer until you think of something to do with it. Then when you finally go to get it out you'll find that you inexplicably now have 3 or 4 Raspberry Pi's that you have absolutely no recollection of buying...
PCB Poetry #935:
Thats right... horribly glitchy distortion, wibbly noise and existential theological enlightenment all in one place.
Circuitbenders delivers it all. ๐
Imagine the savings in time and energy when its 100% AI's paying you for data 100% generated by other AI's. As long as they don't realise they can quite easily cut out the middle man, we'll all be cashing in! ๐
If only there was some way to replace customers with AI. ๐ค
Absolute classic.
During lockdown i went through a period of just buying random shit from aliexpress and getting it shipped to various people i know like some kind of baffling mystery benefactor. A few of my unlucky acquaintances have one of those... whatever they are.
Further adventures in Aliexpress listing photos #625:
From now on i'll be posting this in response to every single utterly futile Facebook comment, which is pretty much all of them...
Given that SC4131 appear to only exist in TO220... thats a bit of an odd one. ๐ค
I think this kind of 'jammed into a big block of aluminum' thing isn't that unusual in germaniums, but i guess thats more about keeping the temperature steady than dissipation
I had some AC128's like that with the transistor casings embedded in massive aluminium heatsinks. Great for fuzz pedals to keep the amount of distortion steady in hot venues.
Fugazi rendering all other Bandcamp Friday releases redundant...
The Steve Albini version of In On The Killtaker.
All proceeds to the Benefit for Letters Charity.
but what if i hate the things i love, and thats why i love them? ๐ค
What if i genuinely need another sludge metal album that sounds identical to 50 other sludge metal albums i already own? Sensible doesn't come into it as i part with yet another ยฃ7 on something i'll probably never listen to and even if i do, i won't actively enjoy it!
and/or "wake up, time to die".
I've said it before and i'll say it again, there is nothing worse than a bent custom fan puller. ๐ค
Certainly Ministry adjacent... in that its pretty much Ministry under a different name.
What if we did away with teachers, and just gave lessons to children using some kind of futuristic tape player? Everyone wins!
Welcome to another exciting episode of "name that 90's industrial track"...
Its a lesson learned, believe me...
When we start our benevolent police state we'll be offering everyone a cheap TB303 clone, and i'm guessing that will be enough for them to overlook any number of crimes against humanity! ๐
Never heard of them, but having just found their Youtube channel... they do seem to be mildly obsessed with suckling at the teat of Behringer don't they? ๐ค
#EVRI have delivered your parcel...
Whats even more delightfully nerdy are the "well actually, blah blah blah" comments at the bottom from guitar/hendrix nerds... ๐
Sounds like far too much effort! ๐
