I've got the Lion, the Tower, and the Sun in the family emblem...
Sometimes you find good shit in there you downloaded for a reason!
Time duration + asking I think
Hard mode - cleaning up your downloads folder
Had our first beta testers today. Stuff's working.

My heart says 'please no' but my wallet says 'please yes'
Can we be gauche back at you in your replies?
"Nothing works, I think the connectors are having issues" (my engineer wife)
I start to turn around to explain to my wife it's not my fault
I remember I haven't worked on connectors at Microsoft for a year and a half and relax, it's someone else's problem now
nostr also did lightning...
Of course I was thinking about if there was an angle for us, here.
Anyway I think it'd be interesting to build payment channels into the protocol itself. And, certainly, we're a lot more able to do that now than when Twitter launched.

The CEO and main architect are both active on here, so I'm sure they'll take technical critique

You know that scene from Forrest Gump?
Replace Shrimp with opinions.
Challenge: Figuring out what to post on which account.
Is it time to go work on sales copy?
Ah, yeah, makes sense. One of the things gpt-4 in its current state is actually legitimately very good at. I do keep thinking about funneling a shitload of RSS calls into it to get a summarization.
Well, difference between a social app and an app that lets you set and forget portfolio strategies, right? Different things caused churn
At least in my case the entire point of our app is that, uh, you don't have to use it very often.
Also, we sent out beta invites today. Beta invites to the app, but full real money getting moved around in production services, so that's...
exciting.
Nervewracking?
Building out loud:
The specs after your initial greenfield development are so much easier.
'Do this, but different. Tweak this. Tweak that.' Having a solid foundation of business logic to build on top of makes everything great.
Building out loud:
Spec writing today, working on bringing back non-custodial portfolios so you can keep your custodial assets in balance with your non-custodial assets.
Working on some sales copy for big institutions.
autochthono.us is a banger url and I won't be convinced otherwise
Well, I renewed 'autochthono.us' which is one of my greatest urls, but my provider (which I hadn't touched in years) doesn't let me modify DNS records so...guess I'm transferring.
Okay, so for my next question: Is search going to be faceted instead of 'we're going to try to search for what we think you wanted'?
As another example - the logs for hplusroadmap go back 15 years, and it's all text searchable. Every business idea, every link, whatever data mining you want. Something much harder with a lot of these. https://gnusha.org/logs/
Yeah, that's fair. I think I just regret parts of what that stack brought in terms of capacities - Signal doesn't live up in terms of UX, Discord is a walled garden, etc.
IRC is even better (EVE Online did this!) but I don't know how it works with the decentralization problem. Signal I'm not sure how you handle multi-identity. In terms of UX conceits, there's a bunch, but less of an issue with open protocol.
bluhs
bad vibes, though
