This is a powerful letter from Minneapolis Legislative Delegation asking Mayor Frey to sign Pause Evictions, Save Lives.
16/17 state legislators who represent Minneapolis signed onto this letter. Itβs time for Mayor Frey to sign this ordinance and support our immigrant neighbors.
If you can, show some extra love to the local places you love.

A few weeks ago when I asked for your help, 100+ of you kicked in. Yesterday, I heard from just one person! (Shoutout to that fine individual.)
We're connecting families to bigger orgs for more sustainable services, but it takes time. We need one more month of funds to bridge the gap. Please help!
Reposting bc I can't stop thinking about the fact that, as a homeowner, I apparently deserve more than 6 months if I am in crisis and need to figure out how to get the money together to stay in my housing but my neighbors who rent apparently only deserve 30 days.
An opinion that makes you a fringe radical in this country is that the life of a person who is not an American citizen is not an abstraction, and is worth just as much as that of an American citizen
βimmigrant communities attacked by the federal government will lose their homesβ if mayor frey vetoes the bill to prevent evictions, says osman. βwe have been attacked. a lot of immigrants were not able to go to work, even US citizens. vetoing this means you are not standing with the immigrants.β
Thank you, friend.
Thank you, Betsy!
Since the national media stopped paying attention to Minnesota, donations have absolutely cratered. There's so much more work to be done. Please ... don't look away.
Minnesota immigrant families are coming out of hiding from ICE, but the damage is done: jobs lost, savings gone, loved ones deported.
Recovery will take time. My neighbor group is still providing mutual aid to 44 households. Can you help?

This was just mentioned, first I had heard about it. 110 songs from Minnesota artists, and money raised goes to mutual aid efforts. It's bandcamp Friday and your dollars will go even further today!

Holy shit
Someone told me the other day they are spending time reflecting on what it means to be "an elder" and I was like, oh god, IT ME
Our little standwithminnesota.com team staved off multiple evictions today. Iβm so proud of us. And the stories are so heartbreaking, and thereβs still so much need.
If you can help, Iβll get it directly where it needs to go.

Sign up to pay a rent directly or send funds to my Venmo so our team can pay more rents. ππ»π
I went through and added up the total paid rents through our adopt-a-rent program, and it is 329 families for $463,217. All peer-to-peer, no fundraising. Just neighbors helping each other out.
If you want to adopt a family, and can afford to give $500 or more, signal me at asiniiwiikwe.72
Yesterday, the federal government filed sworn statements in our case Hussen v. Noem. The statements reveal the number of Operation Metro Surge (OMS) agents currently deployed in Minnesota and the number of OMS agents projected to be deployed in our state into March.
I am so excited by all the fundraising I'm seeing (thank you, thank you) ... but have no clue where to send families who actually need help with rent.
Am I missing a page somewhere?
Thanks for bringing attention to our hometown hero.
Ashley Fairbanks @ziibiing.com launched Stand With Minnesota standwithminnesota.com, a mutual aid repository supporting residents under ICE's siege, in early Jan. in the weeks since, it's facilitated covering people's rents and flown folks detained back home from Texas.
she can help you do it, too.
This is a terrific article full of useful information and actionable ideas for literally anyone, anywhere who cares about their community.

Families who have been in hiding from ICE will be recovering for MONTHS.
Don't stop giving. Don't look away.
Does anyone have a hard time telling people what life was like during the last 2+ months without sounding like you're going crazy.

ICE activity continues to interrupt daily life for students, staff and families, despite the announced end of the two-month surge of federal immigration agents. Students attend school remotely, staff monitor arrival and dismissal, and leaders wonder when they can resume normal school operations.
