Members of the Leeds United first team made their Christmas visit to patients at Leeds Children’s Hospital last week!

Our Emergency Departments are always busy, and our teams manage this really well but there are long waits at the moment. If you are not seriously ill, our hospitals may not be the best place for you to get the treatment you need.

There's a specialist multi-disciplinary team at the new Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, supporting patients in many different ways.
Clinical psychologist Rachel says: "I love the flow of the space and how we as a team will work in and around one another. It’s completely uplifting.”
Kelly, who is also a Learning Disability Champion alongside her role as a Clinical Support Worker, says:
“Due to my personal experience, I am able to support our patients in a much deeper and more meaningful way.”

The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Leeds is officially open.
Five years after rugby league legend Rob Burrow first shared his dream with Dr Agam Jung, consultant neurologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, that dream has become a reality.

If you are a family with concerns about your current care, please ask to speak to your midwife, or the Matron, Team Leader or Ward Manager for the area you are currently in, or where you are receiving care.
We would also like to reassure families in Leeds who are using our services currently, that we are already taking significant steps to address improvements to our maternity and neonatal services, and we know there is still much more to do.
We are committed to working openly, honestly and transparently with the inquiry team and with families who have used our services.
We are truly sorry to bereaved and harmed families who have had poor experiences when receiving care in our hospitals. We know we haven’t listened to families well enough, or responded to their concerns compassionately, and we are determined to do better.
The Government has announced today that there will be an independent inquiry into maternity and neonatal services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

We've been celebrating our blooming lovely new White Rose Wellbeing Garden with an official opening event at St James's Hospital.
The garden, outside the 100-year-old former nurses home, now Trust HQ, offers a retreat for our hardworking colleagues, with patients and visitors also welcome.
What is it like to be old? Answers to this question, including 'I am old but can be very silly and sometimes naughty’ were given by some of the older patients who came through our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service last week. This was part of our International Day of Older Persons celebrations.
Our Falls Team has been out and about visiting wards across the Trust, raising awareness of how we can prevent falls for patients.

Refreshments will be available and there will be access to the chapel to hang remembrance tokens on the tree until 7.30pm.

Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity for everyone to come together to remember and commemorate much-loved and missed babies.
We are inviting families to join us for ‘A Time for Remembering’ service in the Chapel at St James's University Hospital, which will start at 6:15pm on 15 October.
