Iβm sure the answer is to be clearer in my prompts, but it makes me wonder how developers with less experience are using LLMs, because getting a clear problem description, clear enough that a machine can properly understand it, is often much harder than it sounds.
Iβve been trying out Claude to help with some work on a side project and itβs so hit and miss. Sometimes it generates really useful code and solves my problem really well. Other times it generates absolute garbage.
And I wrote a bit about it here www.neilmacy.co.uk/blog/about-t...

Iβve set myself a music challenge. Instead of giving Β£12 a month to Spotify or Apple Music, Iβm going to spend that on building up my collection again.
CDs, digital downloads, whatever. But I want a collection of my own music, independent of big companies that make questionable choices.
Dear tech companies,
We all know what tomorrow is. Donβt do it. Itβs not endearing or funny like it use to be. Just let this one go.

Digital cleanup time!
Also spent some time last night updating the album links on my site. Iβm using MusicThread to share the links now, so itβs platform agnostic.

I switched my RSS from iCloud sync in NetNewsWire to self-hosted FreshRSS.
Itβs nice to have flexibility in RSS clients and platforms again. I can use it on Android!
Plus itβs only hosted on my Mac mini at home, so I canβt use it outside of the house. Nice way to avoid distractions at the office!

Thatβs a cool idea
That was it! Then I discovered the archive on F1 TV and that was my gateway to rewatching full 90s seasons with a spreadsheet to track championship points π (I was very happy when BBV10s started around the same time)
Watching it in lockdown! I canβt remember why. Good race though, canβt believe how many people looked like winning then didnβt, before Panis did.

I was bitten by this #SwiftUI bug with swipeActions not working, and wrote about it so that when I inevitably do the same thing again in a few months I can find this article www.neilmacy.co.uk/blog/swiftui...
Had a bunch of info come through on the F1/Hot Wheels cars.
Really like that they're doing budget and premium versions. The cheaper ones are just Β£2.30, which makes them much more accessible (I hope!)
I say this as someone who fell in love with F1 through having a toy car collection!
Happy 25th Anniversary to those who remember...
Does this look familiar? You are trying to create a consistent layout for multiple symbols that have noticeably different widths or heights.
Here's how you can solve this problem in SwiftUI using the .frame modifier, font styles, and the @ScaledMetric property wrapper! π§΅

Ohhh, I misread. I thought you meant the full race π€¦ sorry for the confusion!
Was that on ITV4? I had no idea, Iβd have watched if Iβd realised!
