People always say things like "that's a billion with a 'b'" or "that's one trillion with a 't'" so I get to say "my Balatro high score is 20 sextillion. That's sextillion with a 'sext.'"

Six months ago, agents were noticeably better at using popular tech. Now they just need pointing at some good docs and they'll do fine.
I don't know why CEOs think their company, with a *fraction* of the resources of companies like Amazon and GitHub, is somehow going to be better off than those companies are when the bill comes due.
"Junior and mid-level engineers will now require more senior engineers to sign off any AI-assisted changesβ
This is the part that turns me into the Joker. They have outages, they're making more engineers spend time on reviews and STILL nobody's asking "is this actually a net productivity gain?"

"Be sure to finish your vegetables" I say to my kid, as he watches me drop a fistful of shredded cheese on my face like a sloppy baby bird
Easily solvable how? I'd love to hear more about this. (I've also run into slowness with localhost URLs and honestly just wrote it off as a Polypane thing.)
As I look in the faces of my beautiful, innocent children, who I know are just the same as those children suffering and dying in another land far away, my heart desperately yearns for an answer:
What about the stock market?
That's devastating
I just counted, and including water, on any given day, my fridge has 12β20 different kinds of beverages in it.
The rest of my family combined only drinks like 6 of them.
I am a certified beverage goblin.
So if you work with women in their late 30s, 40s, or beyond, please remember: they may be carrying far more than you can see.
We need more awareness.
We need better support.
We need workplaces that understand womenβs health is not a niche issue.
You might be surprised how understanding children can be once you stop believing they're born sharing your biases.
Hi; parent of a first-grader who knows several gay couples here.
Understanding is natural. My kid's never once thought to question.
It's lying to your kid that there's only one way to exist, and then having to dig yourself out of that lie when they're old enough to question it that's the problem.
Challenge for those who believe AI is conscious:
Go ask actual credentialed experts in relevant fields, like cognitive science, and stop believing you're even qualified to have an opinion on things you know nothing about just because you can make computers do stuff.
Your brain is constantly lying to you, in everything you do, every day of your life, and it sure seems obvious to me that understanding how to identify that and find the actual truth through those biases is a desperately needed basic life skill.
We really need to make psychology a mandatory basic education course, because having a massive segment of the population running around believing that everything they think and feel is objective reality is not going well for us.
I try to view some recent orders on an online retailer.
Three of the five links 404.
The remaining two technically work, but if you click "order details" or "order again" you just get taken to an empty cart.
Also, prices that end in zero are weirdly truncated (e.g., $65.7).
Just got jolted awake at midnight by emergency phone alerts and tornado sirens. Sprinted to get both kids out of bed and to shelter in the basement.
Luckily the warning passed without noticeable incident (at least as far as I know), but man...that was a very un-fun kind of intense for a bit there.

Ummm I actually don't know the answer to that first question. π€ I know the field was there and I filled it out though. Weird.
But for the second: it's largely a function of time and luck. (I've probably spent ~500 hours on this game and only gotten to e-level numbers a handful of times.)
I actually wrote it out in the alt text, FWIW π€
But as a short version: Triboulet gives 2x mult for each king played. Two of the other jokers just copy Triboulet, so I effectively have four, and the remaining two just re-trigger cards. So each played king gives 2x mult between 8 and 16 times.

Hmmm, wonder how much I've got left to pay off on my mortgage.
[My mortgage dashboard is blank]
Ok...let's check my credit card points.
[Can't log in because the password form is coded wrong and my password manager can't detect it]
[Manually log in]
[There's a new dashboard. It isn't working.]
Guess I'll just go do some online shopping. [Product page 404s]
Ok...maybe I'll handle that return I've been putting off.
[Wastes 10 minutes with an AI chatbot that repeats the same irrelevant answers until I manage to bully it into connecting me with a human]
Guess I can go get some work done while I wait.
Whoops. GitHub's down again.
I've been trying for two weeks to set up education savings accounts for my kids. Should take 10 minutes online, but the portal's broken.
Just tried to pay my kids' pediatrician online. No way to see what I'm actually being billed for, but doesn't matter, because the payment fails every time anyway.
I notice a high correlation between the volume of companies I hear saying AI writes all their code, and the volume of phone calls I have to make to actual human customer service agents because their company's web app is impossibly broken for the simple task I want to do.
Amazing how we went from not being able to style selects, to doing things like this with them codepen.io/editor/cbols... (and this codepen.io/t_afif/pen/P...)
Just realizing I've 100%-ed all nine of these games.
Literally done everything there's some kind of an achievement for in all nine of 'em.
