HONK HONK MOTHERTRUCKERS
HONK HONK MOTHERTRUCKERS
What's your must-see/do/ear here?
For my birthday week, I didn't want a fancy trip or hotel. I just wanted to be alone with my computer someplace that wasn't the apartment.
Cottage core birthday hack week has kicked off
This is actually really interesting! Why do we allow Claude to be on the commit byline, but not Zed, or Rust Analyzer, etc?
You're welcome to! I don't extend goodwill to products. They aren't people
Naw man. It just puts the author at risk of being called an AI slop coder. The upside is entirely for Anthropic with the creator taking on all the risk
Thank you, Hugh!!
Feeling very loved and cherished this birthday ๐
Thank you, Bobbie!
Claude Code trying to co-author GitHub repos. Yeah. No buddy, no free advertising for billion dollar companies I pay a subscription fee to. I love you, but boundaries.
It was so good. My stomach was topped up but I was like "YOU WILL NOT SHAME ME LIKE THIS IN MY HOUR OF NEED, TUMMEH"
(that rhinestone encrusted peacock was actually in a completely random hotel lobby, but it was too fabulous not to go in and photograph)
Birthday week will continue until morale improves
Zed.
My friend, I hear you. Local models are the future: web.dev/articles/rig...
And in terms of "cooking the world," I'm actually more concerned that AI might become TOO efficient. (It takes less resources for a model to generate an image for an artist to open Photoshop on a laptop, for instance.)
Sometimes I have really grim thoughts about the developer community and there is no good place to post them, so I just email them to myself
Depends on your definition of "wrong" and "lost." CSS community finished the specs and standards that dictate the presentation layer of the web and pioneered scaling design systems. However, the challenge moved on to scaling logic and behavior and component systems. Some people didn't move with
Birthday week continues: setting up OpenClaw
And I don't mean this in an aggro way. I mean this a person who watched their favourite community members fade into irrelevance rather than adapt to a changing industry.
I we will build better things together. Please come along. I can't wait to see what you discover and build
jealous
If you are a developer and you are averse to using AI tools, you are where CSS die-hards were when they rejected JS frameworks. It will get lonely out there, and harder to find work
Birthday week is on, bitches
That said, I don't think courses are what they once were, given that people are increasingly learning from AI/having AI do things. Courses are likely to be harder sells
Exactly. I have actually had more time to spend learning, and it's good
Mima feature list: screen generated content from social feeds.
I think this is a great idea. DO IT.
I consider this barebones. Just merging X and Bluesky feeds feels like a triumph. But I have so much more planned! The goal: ALL the platforms; deduping identities so you can see a person's thoughts ACROSS messaging, X, etc; conversation and buzz summaries; and jumping in points
Mima Progress, week 1 <3
I'm writing this from Mima, for which Opus chose app passwords.
Addressed the first issue on my latest repo :D github.com/nearestnabor...
Appreciate folks sharing their expertise to help build something greater (and I learn new things, too!)
