I created this piece five years ago! 😱 Hard to not think of all the ways I could do better today, but I really enjoyed giving every character their own activity, almost like a significantly less busy Where's Waldo?.

A pixel art self-portrait. The original size is 64x64 pixels at 1x scale. It uses 6 colors total (black, white, brown, blue, grey, and a skin tone). Shading is minimal and mostly done with black and dithering patterns. There is heavy usage of outlines with black outlines across most elements and an additional white outline around the exterior portions. The image uses a black background. A pixel art rendition of the map Silph Co. 8F from Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow using the same dimensions, but added colors and detail. It is themed after an imagined 1970s office. Almost the entire floor has vertical wood panel walls. Pneumatic tubes replace the warp pads. The leftmost room contains 5 wooden desks with typewriters, rotary phones, file folders and boxes, and warm yellow fabric office chairs. The carpet is a deep red, and there are two filing cabinets surrounding a set of warm green curtains that an NPC is hiding behind, with feet peeking out. There are a set of two rooms to the right, both with white tile flooring. The top one contains the only computer and its tape storage. There is a scientist confusingly looking at the pneumatic tube entrance contained in it. There is an Electrode moving within the tube. Below this is a breakroom. There is a water cooler, a trash can, two vending machines, a table with two plastic green chairs, and another pneumatic tube entrance. On the breakroom table there is an open book, a coffee mug, and an ashtray. Below is the hallway. The carpet here is orange with a more intricate pattern. The bottom section has a pneumatic tube entrance at the left end and rubber plants with blue pots at each end. Adorning the walls are a series of paintings, mid century modern consoles, a yellow couch, and a round table with a lamp with green chairs on either side. There is a Pokémon battle between a Team Rocket member and a Pokémon trainer. Her Electabuzz is giving a strong right hook to the Team Rocket member's Golbat. The Hallway splits to go to a section up top with a staircase, a fire extinguisher, an elevator, and another yellow couch with a napping Team Rocket member. The final room is a bathroom that splits into two sides. Each side has a single stall toilet with a mirror and sink, wall soap dispenser, and a hand dryer. The right bathroom section is empty, but the left is occupied by a Grimer flooding the toilet.

yeah i'm not sure if the new hd remasters have good automapping stuff or not

and it depends on how much you value certain other aspects of turn based rpgs, but etrian odyssey is almost pure dungeon crawl.

i very much did not like sea of stars, fwiw. i guess my initial suggestions would be smt 3 nocturne and smt v vengeance. i find that they turn my brain off pretty nicely.
