You don't need to keep doing line work if you don't like doing it. It might take some time, but develop a different technique that makes you happier if you don't like that part of your process

It can be from the most "well meaning" people. People still don't understand that the inability to even talk about/ sit with those things (difficult as they can be) builds increasingly caustic environments inevitably driving people out or away. I imagine its much more frustrating when you work in it

To your point, I saw this sort of thing happen years ago and get mirrored very recently when I watched someone play RE5 where the topic of racism was brought up in proximity. Something is brought up as problematic analytically, the majority who gets to be unbothered brushes it off– rinse repeat.

I cast my vote on the former because at least some within the latter, on smug (misguided) satisfaction, might make the attempt in their hubris and learn something.

the only thing gatekeeping art is livable wages. which ironically are being gatekept from artists from people who don't want to hire them.

I figured it out, making brush blending mode for pen brush can mimic the natural looks of fountain pen inks, the part when the ink gets darker when overlapping with other strokes
