Republican criticisms of Obama are ridiculous and unfounded.
There are many VALID criticisms of Obama from the left though, and liberals dismiss them at their peril.
Things were less overtly fascist, but they were definitely NOT GOOD. Stop pining for the days of more respectable war criminals.

What steps were taken in between these administrations to hold the previous ones accountable and prevent it from happening again?
I spent my college years protesting the Bush administration, only for Obama to continue all his worst policies.

Each one worse than the one before, because none of them were held accountable in any way. Obama and Biden continued all their worst policies, increased ICE budgets, built up the machinery of empire, then cooly handed it right back to the fascists.

In order to win elections, you have to mobilize your base. Democrats are disdainful of their base, that we should ask *anything* of them.
