and sure they are Different, and some of them do actually fall into certain stereotypes (due to their own inability to step outside of the box they've been shoved into), but all of them are fairly *reasonable*, once you understand the level of morality they're operating at +

to the celestials, they don't want to acknowledge this subsect of very important self-focused gods of human nature. they don't want to accept that the archfiends *are* gods who have altered the very laws of nature to allow themself a place to exist. instead they're pariahs, marked as evil.

pride - self-confidence and understanding oneself.
sloth - the importance of rest and taking care of oneself
wrath - the refusal to be stepped on or take things lying down, revolution, revolt, self-respect
gluttony - allowing yourself indulgences, and not sacrificing your own needs.

each of these guys *have* positive facets to their domains, and primarily these are reflective of the change that the Primordia Order is afraid of:

lust - desire, drive, ambition
envy - striving for self-improvement, inspiration from others
greed - the need to preserve what's important

it's to divert attention away from giving them any serious worship.
for example: lust and desire are two sides of the same coin. desire is the thing that drives all change and ambition, whether it's desire to wander or desire to see the joy in others. or even desire for wealth.

the archfiends in my setting are only categorized by the seven deadly sins because the ancient gods did not want to recognize them for what they really are. they wanted to mark the fiends as aberrations against the laws of nature.
