Slept on one of its cousins for a year… I don’t remember the particulars of mattress types, but I remember we had some very thick mattress toppers (like nearly as thick as the mattress), which provided plenty of cushion for sleeping. Those doubled as another sleep option on the floor for guests.

Genuine question: I'm just over 100 pages into Stephen King's 1300-page behemoth The Stand... is it worth it?
Possibly relevant: I've not read any King before (except On Writing). Picked it up because I like a dystopia with religious themes.
