There is not a snowball’s chance in hell that a normal, sane, GROWN ADULT WHO IS A FORMER MARINE would be approached by two UNARMED KIDS and be so scared for his life that his very first reaction is to immediately escalate to deadly force.
The thing about this is, even if everything the shooter claimed to be true was actually true—-that the two boys “threatened him” and were “trying to steal his bike”—-then the shooter is STILL a murdering psychopath
