I didn't enjoy running 2 miles at 5K pace at all. Regardless, I am glad I tested myself. I have today off. Tomorrow I will do 6x400. I hope for fresh legs by then :)

After the easy run yesterday, I have 4 miles today, 2 of which will be at 5K pace. I am very excited to find out if I can run at my target pace for 2 miles.

I did 4 x 800 with rest in between. It was hard as I couldnβt really pace myself at 5K speed. Today I will run 3-4 easy miles. 7 days for the race.

Also, news outlets usually word it as if the βagentβ decided to do it on its own :)
Full 5K plan for the March 14th race. I am not that hopeful. I will consider it as an experiment.

I have a 5K race in 8 days. I didn't run for a month until a few days ago. I plan to target the pacing below for different sessions.
β’ Intervals: 6:20β6:35/mi
β’ Threshold: 7:00β7:10/mi
β’ Aerobic: 7:40β8:05/mi
β’ Recovery: 8:30β9:10/mi

16 Claude Opus 4.6 agents just wrote a complete C compiler in Rust from scratch, capable of compiling the Linux kernel.
Great, yet, AI still does what we already did. How close is the next phase?

53 km. One day :)
I ran just 3 miles at a moderate pace, but my Strava effort was 60 (high considering the pace and distance). That is what happens if you don't run for a month.

Ah. I wish you didn't say that. Now I don't have an excuse :)
I haven't run or worked out for two weeks. No doubt, the first run will feel much harder than the last one two weeks ago. On the weight-lifting side, I am very hopeful that some of the muscles that hurt so much have recovered. Even if they haven't, I won't neglect them anymore.

I used to end every day exhausted.
Then I started a simple experiment: every meeting I scheduled, I cut 5-10 minutes off the default. 25 instead of 30. 50 instead of 60.
That experiment became a pledge. 2550.org

How many meetings did you sit through today that could have ended 10 minutes earlier?
The 25/50 pledge is a commitment to start sharp, end early, and give people their time back. Every meeting, every time.

When I run, I think about a lot of things. Sometimes about systems. This is the one I have been thinking on for a while.

Enshittification: coined by Cory Doctorow, the threeβstage decay of digital platforms. They start great to attract users, then degrade the experience to extract value for shareholders and advertisers. Amazon, Facebook, Google, TikTok β all follow the arc.

OpenScholar just dropped in Nature: an open-source AI that reviews scientific literature better than commercial LLMs and actually gets citations right. Uses 45M open-access papers. Free to try!
AI just drove a Mars rover. No human input.
In December, NASA's Perseverance used generative AI to plan and execute a 246m route autonomously. Vision-language models + orbital imagery + terrain data.
Very cool.

I need to understand this better: MIT solved the LLM context window problem?
Instead of pushing massive inputs directly into neural networks, Recursive Language Models treat prompts as interactive environments the AI can symbolically explore.

Reddit is becoming an AI-powered answer engine, not just a forum. Starting Q3 2026, they'll personalize results for everyone, even logged-out users. Curious how this compares to Perplexity and ChatGPT search.

Forget AI benchmarks. 11 mathematicians (including a Fields Medalist) just released 10 real problems from their unpublished research. These are genuine research questions. Answers to be revealed Feb 13.

It seems like I wonβt be able to run for 2 weeks. There is a chance I wonβt even be able to do any cardio.
Publix Half Marathon is a month away. I think I will have to adjust my goal for the race.

Interesting MIT study: using ChatGPT for writing significantly reduces cognitive load compared to search or going unaided. The brain works less hard. Makes me wonder about long-term effects on our thinking.

If you need to keep config files in git without leaking secrets, SOPS + age is a clean combo: encrypt JSON/YAML in-place, keep only ciphertext in repo, and share a single age public key with your team. Simple, auditable, and CI-friendly.
Running my own AI assistant on a Raspberry Pi using OpenClaw. Open source, self-hosted, connects to Telegram/Discord.
What I like: I can connect it to almost anything, switch between models and more.
Still early but very promising.

Been exploring and using Svelte 5's runes.
Old: let count = 0
New: let count = $state(0)
What I like: reactivity now works in plain .js files, not just .svelte. Finally.

Found Undb today. An open source Airtable alternative that doubles as a Backend as a Service.
What caught my eye: local-first, offline-first, and fully self-hostable. Type-safe APIs out of the box.
Looks promising for anyone tired of vendor lock-in.

Just discovered Svedit β a tiny library for building editable websites in Svelte.
Visual in-place editing, JSON content model, ~2000 lines of code. No separate CMS needed.
