I made some charts to illustrate how the various Winter Olympic Sports, Locations, and Athletes have been mentioned on Jeopardy! over the years. Let me know if you notice any interesting patterns or something I missed!

I just made a reddit post about two Kickstarter campaigns that compiled a bunch of historical board games into one box. Let me know what you think! www.reddit.com/r/boardgames...
What game?!
My first two thoughts:
1: 4 minutes of correcting a student's behavior now may save 40 minutes later
2: Effective responses should teach the other kids about appropriate behavior and consequences.
So I wouldn't see that as a total waste, unless the student just needs an alternative placement.
I made graphs about all the tennis players mentioned on Jeopardy!, comparing how often they were asked about during and after their careers, as well as Singles vs. Doubles success.

I can't believe those athletes wasted all that time lifting weights. There isn't a single barbell on the field during a game!
Yeah, these "For Babies" books are not as good as the "Baby Loves" series: a.co/d/6FTTFaJ
We've reached the bad place where people are writing things with AI to people who summarize them with AI.
I'm trying to make graphs of every topic on Jeopardy, and this time I did a couple for golf. This is the list of golfers who were mentioned more than once and one a Major. Data is from PGA and J-Archive and I made the graphics in Affinity. #golf #dataviz #jeopardy
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has died. President Russell M. Nelson was 101.

As proud as I was to add my name to the list of Utah PAEMST winners, I was disappointed to realize I will be the last. Thanks to Talia Milgrom-Elcott for including my thoughts here. And thanks to my wife for reminding me I'm too old to say I made Forbes "under 30."

Iβve been trying to study every Boxing clue that has shown up on Jeopardy! Based on my research, I decided to make three charts of what I found interesting. The data is from J-Archive, BoxRec, and IMDb. I used DataWrapper and Affinity Designer to make the graphics.
Man, it's bittersweet that in my last year of teaching I finally have almost every student pass the AP Physics 1 test. That new curriculum helped, but I also finally had a good system of test prep.
We found that metronomes are great for time!
What if a college was recruiting a girl who ran a 4:30 mile, but downgraded her scholarship because she ran a 6:30 in 9th grade? That's exactly what they do with GPA, weighing your abilities from 3 years ago the same as your accomplishments today. #edusky #gradingreform
Some other general science channels you probably know are SciShow, Be Smart, Kurzgesagt, and VSauce, who is another creator that has taken a break to focus on his subscription business (Curiosity Box). Let me know if I missed any of your favorites! 19/19
The rest: 3Blue1Brown often brings Physics into his math videos. Slow Motion Guys has excellent clips for a Physics class. Other smaller Physics/Engineering channels worth checking out are Up and Atom, Alpha Phoenix, Science Asylum, Fermilab, Real Engineering, and Engineer Guy. 18/x
Even in her early videos, she had great explanations of Turbulence, Resonance, Mirrors, Polarization, Buoyancy, Touch screens, and Laser cooling. 17/x

The Physics Girl also started with the help of PBS but then became independent. She has been suffering from Long Covid for 2 years, but amazingly she has just returned to walking and talking independently. 16/x

PBS SpaceTime is amazing for Quantum and Astrophysics, just look at any of their playlists. They used to do more questions and answers, and my physics class was featured at the end of this video! 15/x www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P1x...
The way chains siphon out of a container was even named after him. He has excellent videos on Tensegrity, Oscillations, Angular Momentum, LEDs, Resonance, Laser Interference, Hearing, Gravitational Waves, and Inverted Bubbles. 14/x

Steve Mould is not as well-known as Derek or Destin, but he should be! His transparent models of siphons and fluid systems are incredible for understanding household objects. 13/x

Practical Engineering explains civil infrastructure, like Stabilized Earth, Water Towers, and the Power Grid with physics equations to explain what is happening. I canβt imagine teaching a unit on Pressure without his videos. 12/x www.youtube.com/watch?v=0olp...
The Action Lab has thrived by making short clips with clickbait titles that bring people into his full videos. I really enjoy his simple experiments on Relative Motion, Mirrors, Perpetual Motion, and Infrared. 11/x www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q4f...
Some of my favorites are about Hollow Earth, Flat Solar System, Bellβs Theorem, Special Relativity, Magnets, Topography, Antimatter, Lasers, Sprinting vs. Falling, Light Bulb Types, and Diffraction Resolution. 10/x www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmNX...
@minutephysics-bot.bsky.social made short-form videos before it was cool. His videos have gotten longer and much less frequent, but I have really enjoyed the spinoff channels about Earth science and Food. 9/x www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN-F...
His excellent videos on physics applications include Bullet & Baseball collisions, Snatch Blocks, Archery, Tempered Glass, Engine Cycles, 2D Treadmills, Laminar Flow, Printed Magnets, Whip Cracks, Curling, Surface Tension, and Fourier Series. 8/x

Destinβs SmarterEveryDay video on Cat Flipping made me want to be a teacher! Recently he has focused on his PhD and longer passion projects like manufacturing a grill scrubber. 7/x
