Good morning Alan ☺️
A wonderful song trush ! I am in my archiev
A Song Thrush perched on a thin garden branch, its creamy chest marked with bold dark arrow-shaped spots. The bird looks alert, head tilted slightly upward, showing a slender yellow-based bill and a large glossy eye catching the light. Warm brown feathers cover its back and wings, while small red berry stems and green leaves frame the scene. The background is softly blurred green foliage, making the thrush stand out sharply in the sunlight. 🌿🐦
Good morning, today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #SongBirds any songbird and the alternative is #PerfectlyPerched any bird perched. I’ve went with a Song Thrush. Wishing you all good luck and a great day ahead. #birds #photography #ECK
Through the blurred bars of a green metal fence in the foreground, the ornate dome of the Südliches Communs (South Communs) at Neues Palais rises majestically against a clear, deep blue spring sky. The shallow depth of field turns the fence bars into soft, abstract strokes of green, framing the architecture like a living picture border. The dome is clad in aged copper sheeting with a dark patina of verdigris, crowned by the radiant gilt Fortuna figure, a monumental copper-hammered sculpture standing 4.80 metres tall, dating from 1765. The golden goddess is caught in a dynamic, swirling pose, her drapery billowing as if caught by the wind, glinting brilliantly in the sunlight. The drum beneath the dome is richly decorated with larger-than-life sandstone sculptures seated along the balustrade, speaking to the Baroque grandeur of the ensemble. Below, the tower section reveals the distinctive facade: warm red brick interspersed with sandstone detailing, tall white-framed windows, and sculptural figures flanking the corners. A Brief History of the Communs The two Communs buildings were constructed between 1766 and 1769 under Frederick the Great, modelled on Versailles’ Grand Commun, with architect Carl von Gontard overseeing the work. Despite their grand, palace-like appearance, sweeping staircases, ornate domes, and the connecting Triumphtor colonnade gateway, they served an entirely practical purpose: housing kitchens, staff quarters, and guest rooms for the Neues Palais. Over the centuries the buildings changed function dramatically, serving at various times as military barracks and even a Nazi-era leadership school, before becoming the main campus of the University of Potsdam. The Fortuna figure was fully restored in 1999 using traditional copper-hammering and gold-leaf gilding, and the entire ensemble has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.
Good morning everyone, have a fabulous Thursday and join us for today’s #PalacesAndGardens with the theme #AboveAndBelow. Share your creative ideas with us, everyone is very welcome.

A very beautiful capture ☺️
A soft, vintage-looking black & white photo of a small bird perched on a thin branch of a tree with small white blossoms. It's looking up at an awkward angle and has one wing open and the other is slightly open.
Winging it
One of my first attempts at bird photography last week. I got all the settings wrong & the colors were weird, so b&w to the rescue. Apple says this is a ruby-crowned kinglet.
