I can't stop thinking about this
Sometimes the thing that makes you stand out from the pack is the thing that keeps you from winning but maybe chasing fame and fortune as a community radio deejay wasn't worth compromising the values that got you into the heavy mellow FM game so many years ago.
After 15 years of ID Music it's obvious that my FM broadcast experimental meditation DJ mixes aren't about to suddenly blow up but it still feels over-indulgent dropping deathy blackened sludge metalβhowever groovingβinto an otherwise mostly pleasant mix of psychedelic drone-dub-percussion sessions.

So many average citizens have stood up to Trump.
Alex Pretti went to the street to protect his fellow humans, who the Trump regime was harming. He lost his life for it. Renee Good lost her life for resisting.
And sorry, butβthese fucking cowards in the Senate canβt vote against Trump nominees?

All I'm trying to do is finish this ID Music mix of polyrhythmic wooden techno with slowed and throwed Live Sunn tapes and watch Benedict Mathurin help the Clippers beat the Knicks yesterday night on League Pass.
move slow and repair things
If there is an issue that you feel strongly about such as not funding genocide or dismantling right wing paramilitary ethnic cleansing programs or guaranteeing body autonomy then it's good IMO to tell the party you would like to vote for 973 days before the election.
18 Dems just voted *today* for Trumpβs agenda. Does it make sense yet why theyβre so unpopular?
You preferred human writing. You're either sharply attuned to the qualities that make for great writing, or a lucky guesser. Maybe vou also noticed that human writing often includes some clunky phrases, like this passage from Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian," caused by the author's aversion to punctuation: "As well ask men what they think of stone." A.I. used to make mistakes like these. But today's systems are much more fluid than their predecessors - so fluid, in fact, that finding grammatical errors or nonstandard syntax is often a hint that you're looking at a human's prose, not a machine's.
The idea that Cormac McCarthy's writing style is a *mistake* nearly made me experience an aneurysm.
Here's an album I think lots of people missed when it was released in 2016; I know I did. Rectifying that now.

I guess this is more of a personal defense against becoming a misanthrope, expressed in annoying political science syntax because of social media. I blame the voters as well, and for the same reason: They're not stupid. But I blame them less because I can't drop out to the compound yet.
"blame the voters" ends up at misanthropy: do awful people win elections because of the actions of a few thousand awful and powerful people who are cynical and/or incompetent, or because tens of millions of people with very little power are all evil cretins and/or hopelessly naive purity testers
the wife is a daylight savings time accelerationist who changes all the clocks 48 hours in advance sowing absolute temporal chaos in our household twice a year
listened to five or six Sunn tapes from their NYOP live archives this weekend: they're mostly AUDs and it's charming to listen to first-timer chompers standing close to the taper trying to continue their conversation as the frequencies swell and thinking oh sweeties you have no idea what's coming
because I am so bad at social media I refrain from doing the thing that would help me feel less weird about all of the awkward silence which would be unfollowing everyone but the 3-5 people I interact with and letting it become a weirdly public group chat between people whose real names I don't know
The 20 Buck Spin connection is still so weird to me. They work with so many good bands, and Vatican Shadow is pretty far outside their usual zone. I love metal, but there's a strain of boring old school metalhead contrarianism that really sucks.
Fernow's not here, but Boyd Rice and Adam Parfrey are. One of the petty reasons I get so mad about this shit is I used to try and sell ad space to Feral House when I worked for Arthur Magazine and he was a total prick and I'm so tired of having to explain to otherwise not-nazis about Death in June.
at first it maybe seems like small potatoes but once you know the players you can use the P4k profile to get from Fernow to white nationalist celebrity William PierceβTurner Diaries author and founder of the National Allianceβsurprisingly quickly

shout-out to The Quietus for at least acknowledging that questions were raised, and also for their intermittent coverage of fascism and white supremacy in underground music

I dug up this septic mess as a community radio DJ with an understandably unpopular yet surprisingly long-running show that airs in the middle of the night in the Chihuahuan Desert, and a lotta music magazine editors explained to me about Bowie wore a swastika once instead of unpublishing a web page.
"abandoned space ship" is my favorite sci fiβwhere are the Revelation Space heads atβbut the most difficult disbelief to suspend is when they turn the ship on and it works instead of bricking and everyone suffocates because the CO2 scrubber SaaS subscription lapsed or nobody has a USBβ cable
also, solidarity with being a kid in rural nowhere: exploring music in a conservative household pre-www and no MTV via randomly acquired cassettes, it wasn't until college that I learned that Laibach's LET IT BE was Beatles covers

I had to shoulder more of the fact-checking whenever the hip-hop editor would get depressed after lunch at the strip club, get stoned up on the roof, and then find an unoccupied office where he'd fall asleep under a desk so it's not like we all had our shit together or anything.
sorry to tell stories of ye olden thymes of yore but for real I used to pay rentβin Los Angeles!βwith income from a job at an indie print mag that came with health insurance and an office with a door where I did a lot of thorough fact-checking of hip-hop and techno 12-inch reviews
unbelievable level of Sideshow Bob-rake-stepping as the same journalist (?) who once claimed that he thought Platner's SS totenkopf was actually a Dead stealie failed to fact-check the claim that Platner's wife is Jewishβand therefore...?βbut she isn't and his source was a nazi blog
