WUSF wants to know: Are you having issues finding a dentist who takes Medicaid? WUSF is asking Tampa Bay area residents about their ability to find dentists currently taking patients with Medicaid plans.

I'm talking to dentists and FOIAing public records, but I'd really love to chat with patients!

If you're in the Tampa Bay region with a Medicaid dental plan, especially if you've had issues finding a provider, lets chat!

This New Port Richey school takes a hands-on, nature-based approach to education School choice expansions in recent years have given parents more options for their children. This has led to an increase in "micro schools" in Florida. One such school in New Port Richey bases many of...

My latest for @wusf.org takes you to West Pasco County, where one educator has expanded on the benefits of a homeschool co-op to provide neurodiverse students with two and four-day schooling options.

Come with me as learn about bees, take a nature walk, work in the garden, bake muffins and more!

Why anti-LGBTQ+ bills can fuel anxiety and depression – even if they don't pass A Tampa mental health provider says such proposals create an environment of fear and hostility in the LGBTQ+ community that can be tricky to treat.

This is not new news to those of us who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, but it may be insightful for some folks.

My latest for @wusf.org.

I had so much fun going out with Gabby on this story. Click through for my photos, and her fabulous interview. And if you think the interview is funny, wait until my reel posts Sunday!

My nephew, with total exasperation: β€œHe keeps using magikarp! This is his THIRD magikarp! If this next one is a magikarp, I’m going to crash out.”

30 seconds later: β€œIT’S ANOTHER DANG MAGIKARP!”

This is huge. My job required me to file for FMLA for the six weeks I was out to donate my kidney. When I came back, I found out I was never covered in the first place. Even though I had the PTO, they could have legally fired me.

I can also be denied life, disability and LTC insurance.

Seized Art, Eavesdropping Guards: Parents Describe a Clampdown at Dilley Detention Center as Kids Shared Their Stories Detainees told ProPublica that art supplies have been removed in room searches, immigrants have lost access to Gmail and staff hover within earshot during video calls.

NEW: Guards have taken away crayons, colored pencils & paper during recent room searches at Dilley, according to detainees and others. After one inspection, the children just β€œcried and cried and cried,” a mother said. The facility denies the claims.

It was a grueling recovery for both of us, but she's happy and healthy and thriving now.

If I could regrow kidneys, I'd keep donating them.

If you ever have any questions about the living donation process, don't hesitate to DM me here or on Signal DaylinaMiller.13.

More than 100,000 people are on on the national transplant waiting list.

13 people die each day waiting for an organ transplant.

My sister was told she'd likely die, too, before she got hers. Living donation was the only option.

I spent months being vetted physically and psychologically.

This month has been a blur so far, so I completely missed the 8th anniversary of me donating a kidney to my stepsister.

I keep sharing my story in the hopes that it'll inspire others to become living donors, too.

Donation after death is wonderful and you should definitely sign up.

But.

The framing of transgender existence as ideology is unscientific and bigoted.

Just because it is widely used by the GOP and broader political right does not mean media and pollsters need to use the bigoted framing to be neutral.

They shouldn’t. They should only ever note the scientific consensus.

Reed Smith of Calusa Oyster Company took us out on his skiff to show us his oyster farm, a series of mesh bags attached to floating buoys in the lower Tampa Bay.

In the not-so-far distance, you could see the Skyway - and the spot where a proposed cruise ship port could impact water quality.

Happy Sunday to everyone except all the mediocre men who made hating things their entire personality lol.

People are allowed to like things you don’t. You don’t need to seek out the source of joy for some folks on social media and shit all over it because you think you’re smarter.

Appreciate your compelling contribution to
this conversation lol. People are allowed to like things you don’t.

Everyone making their whole personality about the things they don’t like is wild to me. We live in a nightmare world. People should find joy where they can.

Tampa's place in death metal history will be on display this weekend The Tampa Bay Museum of Metal Historic Florida Metal Exhibition will feature relics from death metal's rich history here.

I've written several times about Tampa's death metal history, and now my @wusf.org colleague Sky has!

Check out his interview with two of the folks dedicated to documenting it since the beginning - and learn more about the pop-up exhibit tomorrow that showcases that history.
