If you get one of your #10a trying to create the overload in those wide areas you then have limited numbers in the central area to play the ball into. So itβs counter-productive. Commit the ball side CB & you still have the other two for security in transition. Have to be braver next week.
If plan A doesnβt work (and in our case it usually doesnβt against a compact, organised, low block) we simply donβt have any type of Plan B. Why donβt we get the wide CB overlapping the WB in wide areas? You have to try and drag them out into areas they donβt want to be in. We do none of that.
Our inability to break down a ORGANISED low block is atrocious. Clueless comes to mind.
I like that line up.
I was thinking this the other day as well. A respectable exit to a PL club would have been more dignified though π€£
Very much this Lynne. Heβs in the best possible place.
Typical Cotterill question. How he has a job as a reporter I have no idea. Heβs abysmal.
Agreed, although we still have Lerma that can also do a job there if needed. Itβs the challenge of playing a back three; you effectively need 5/6 centre backs which is a lot of centre backs π€£
If we can double our original investment it wouldnβt surprise me. We know weβll need to make one big sale in the summer to balance the books.
And as for Canvot, considering his age (starting regularly as a CB in the PL as a 19 year old is very rare), itβs clear heβs an absurd talent. Yes heβll have his moments but thatβs simply down to inexperience. Imagine how good heβs going to be in 2-3 years time.
Jaydee is 19 & Chadi is 22. Iβll criticise our recruitment as much as anyone, but weβve absolutely nailed it with these two. Way too many people wrote off Riad but now heβs (hopefully) past his injury issues, we are starting to see what a talented defender he is.
I donβt think we can underestimate the gamble that is seemingly paying off by not signing a short term replacement for Guehi in January. Itβs giving both Canvot & Riad valuable game time & exposure. Both were excellent again last night. The future is bright.
For Larnaca, Iβd play Sarr there. Then you can get another attacker into the top line. No need for Clyne in a game like this.
Losing tonight really would ramp up the importance of next Sunday at home to Leeds. Feels like this is a season where 40 points might be needed to stay upβ¦.
Positive performance for the most part. Red card decision is an absolute joke. But itβs one of the big clubs at home so different rules clearly apply. Well done Chris Kavanagh & VAR πππ
Oh if one club could, we know itβs us.
Looks class mate! Congrats!
Yeah Iβm kinda annoyed I didnβt pick that one tbh as it looked incredibleβ¦although I was fortunate to get a ticket for Strasbourg.
Possible QF at Florentina would also be incredible, but their stadium is currently under re-development so ticket allocation wouldnβt be as big. RakΓ΄w would be utterly lameβ¦stadium holds 5,500.
Trying not to get ahead of myself but a Semi Final vs. Shakhtar in Krakow in late April (30th) would be an away trip for the ages. They are currently averaging 8,000 attendances in the competition & the stadium holds 33,000β¦.so tickets for everyone that would want to go.
Heβs going to be ridiculously good;
Yep, thatβs my thinking as well. Glasner is his shield.
Just depends how much damage the banners will have done to a certain someoneβs egoβ¦usually when it comes from that section of the fanbase, he actsβ¦
If Glasner is to still go, youβd imagine it would be today. Otherwise, would be bloody risky to make a change less than 72 hours before a game that will define the rest of our season. My guess is he will take Mostar game, and they then re-assess.
So heβs coming for the fans now. Oh Oliver. Iβm glad Iβm not there Sunday. Itβs going to be beyond toxic.
Parish is shielding himself & using Glasner as the fall guy in every sense.
Steve Parish running of this football club since June has been absolutely shambolic. Keeping Glasner just shields him from a pile on from all angles. Itβs pathetic. Thatβs why Glasner is still in a job. Itβs plain & simple.
Heβs actually done pretty well at Ferencvarosi tbf to him. Did well in the Europa League as well. It would be an outside the box appointment.
