When I lived in Rhode Island, I could walk down the hill to see the Providence Bruins play and root for them, but I didn’t think at all about the Boston Bruins or the NHL or championships. Like any other sport, I watch it because I know I have no ability to do it.

Bad Moon Rising is solid from beginning to end. I think it was the 3rd record I got by them back in 87, and it clicked for me.

This was a bummer, as I had to wrack my brain for the list. Plenty of women drummers, horn players in ska bands, and bass players. Not a lot of frontwomen.
Synchronicity: moments before reading this I queued up a bunch of stuff to listen to during work, and Slant 6’s “Soda Pop Ripoff” is in that mix. Such a solid band.
